Features

Availability

I am now open to new referrals within my practice.  I work both in person and also can also offer therapy remotely.

I offer all new enquiries a free 20 minute Zoom call to discuss therapy further with you.

I see clients once or twice weekly dependent on your needs. The session day(s) and time (s) will be agreed with you during our initial contact if you decide to move forwards.

When you contact me please give me an idea of your availability (eg daytime/evening) so we can discuss what you are looking for.

I have worked with clients coming to therapy with a wide variety of issues including anxiety, body image issues, disordered eating, childhood abandonment, gender and sexuality, dissociation, trauma.

I take holiday time usually over Easter, Summer and Christmas and New Year periods.  This is discussed well in advance with you before I take holiday time, so we can plan together about it.

About me and my therapy practice

All clients are unique and your story is just yours. I do not work from a one size fits all approach.  My training is informed by an attachment-based approach and also includes psychoanalytic perspectives, trauma informed approaches. Our earliest relationships with our caregivers and others can have long lasting impacts into adulthood and how we learn to form relationships or not can be one of the impacts. Psychoanalysis sometimes looks at the unconscious (what is going on deep down, one way to work with this maybe dreams for example).

Marginalisation experiences, and being discriminated against often in multiple ways can also have profound impacts on our sense of self.  I welcome these experiences into the room, if they are part of your story and can explore them with you to begin to understand and help you find your voice around them.

I will always aim to stand alongside you, as you begin to find a safe enough space with me to explore your stories and experiences.

Practice description

Thinking about therapy for yourself is a big step, and can feel daunting. From first contact, to any following sessions, you can expect a warm and relational approach from me, human being to human being first and foremost.  You are an individual and your story is unique to you, therapy is a space in which you can begin to explore and make sense of your stories.

When you first contact me, we will arrange a free 20 minute Zoom call to talk a little more together about why you are thinking about therapy.

After that if we agree we will meet for a couple of sessions (fee payable) and explore a little more about your history to see if we might work together.

Following on from that if we agree we will meet, arrangements will be confirmed to you in writing and then review or talk together after say 4-6 sessions to see if working with me is right for you before we talk longer term therapy together.

My first session

I offer all new contacts, a free, short online call to discuss what you are looking for in therapy. If we both agree, we will arrange a full assessment session (full fee) to explore more in-depth some of your history, experiences with therapy, and background.

After the assessment we decide that I may be the right therapist for you, and we could work together, we will agree our working arrangements, and meet for 6 sessions after which we will review to ensure that this therapy is right for you before entering long term work together.

I reply to any emails/enquires during Monday-Thursday when I am in practice.
