About me and my therapy practice

I understand what it feels like to reach a breaking point. In my 40s, while juggling a high-pressure HR Director role and caring for my father with dementia, I experienced burnout and depression. That personal journey led me to therapy—and eventually to becoming the therapist I needed back then.

With over 20 years in senior HR roles before retraining as a psychotherapist, I bring both professional insight and lived experience to our work together. I know the weight of impossible expectations, the struggle to balance work and life, and what it takes to ask for help when you're used to handling everything alone.

My approach is refreshingly real. No jargon, no judgment—just genuine conversation in a space where you can be completely yourself. Whether you're dealing with workplace stress, family pressures, or simply feeling stuck, I'm here to walk alongside you at your own pace.

About me and my therapy practice

My experience has taught me that everyone deserves a space to be heard and understood, regardless of their circumstances. Whether you're facing life transitions, personal challenges, or seeking growth, I provide a supportive environment where you are able to express yourself without judgement. My approach is person-centred, integrative, and relational, tailored to meet your unique needs. By blending techniques from humanistic, psychodynamic, and behavioural therapies, I create a personalised treatment plan designed for optimal effectiveness.

Practice description

My journey to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both personal and professional experiences. Through caring for a parent with dementia and navigating burnout from corporate HR work, I've gained a deep understanding of life's challenges and the transformative power of therapy. My approach draws from both person-centred and integrative therapy, which means our work together will be shaped by what feels right for you. Having transitioned from a career in HR, I deeply understand the complexities of professional life, burnout, and the courage it takes to make meaningful changes.

I believe therapy isn't about being "fixed" - it's about understanding yourself better and finding your own path forward. Sometimes that means exploring difficult emotions, other times it's about discovering new perspectives or ways of being.

I believe that counselling should be both accessible and delivered in the right environment for meaningful change.

My first session

It is really important you find the right therapist for you, this is why I offer a free 15-20 minute consultation so you can explore how therapy might help, what your key challenges are and determine whether or not you would like to explore therapy further.  Following this consultation and if you decide you wish to proceed, you'll be offered a first paid session, which will establish your goals and or key issues you want support with as well as providing a safeguarding assessment called a PHQ-9 which we'll use a various points throughout your therapy to determine how you are doing.
