About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Maddie — a qualified counsellor based in the centre of Bath.
I offer a warm, supportive space where you can explore what’s troubling you — whether that’s anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, or simply a sense that something isn’t quite right.
While for some people they come to counselling unsure of exactly what they need — only that they want change. I’m here to walk alongside you in that process, helping you better understand yourself, your past, and the patterns that may be holding you back.
My approach
I’m a humanistic integrative counsellor, which means I see you as the expert on your own life. My role is to help you access that inner wisdom, offering guidance and insight along the way.
Being integrative means I draw on a range of counselling theories to tailor the work to you. There’s no one-size-fits-all in therapy — together, we’ll find an approach that fits your needs, goals, and pace.
What working together looks like
The relationship between us is central. In weekly sessions, we’ll focus on the parts of your life that feel most difficult. We might explore:
- how your past is shaping your present
- patterns in your behaviour and relationships
- your sense of self, purpose, and belonging
Above all, I’ll offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space for you to feel heard, understood, and supported — wherever you are on your journey.
Practice description
How I work
We’ll meet weekly for 50-minute sessions, working at a pace that feels right for you.
I place a strong emphasis on building a genuine, trusting relationship. I’ll offer empathy, careful listening, and a non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and honestly — without fear of being misunderstood or dismissed. Feeling safe, seen, and supported is the foundation for meaningful change.
Whatever brings you to therapy, we’ll explore it together. Our work can help you make sense of your experiences, connect more deeply with your feelings, and move towards the life you want.
In-person and online sessions
I offer face-to-face sessions from a warm, welcoming room in the centre of Bath. I also have a limited number of online sessions available for clients who prefer to work remotely.
My first session
Following an initial free phone consultation, our first session will see us meet at my room in the centre of Bath. As with all of our sessions, we will meet for 50 minutes.
Unlike our other sessions which will be led by you, this session will involve an initial assessment so that I can better understand what you are experiencing and your goals for therapy.
You may still be curious about what therapy will look like, and so this first session gives you an opportunity to bring any questions you still have about the process and about how we will work together.
Types of therapy
Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred, Psychodynamic, Relational
Clients I work with
Adults, Older adults, Trainees
How I deliver therapy
Long term sessions, Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy, Short term sessions, Short-term face-to-face work
