About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and have an MA from the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education. I am Íø±¬ÃÅ and UKCP accredited and have 5 years of professional experience working with children, adolescents, and parents.
I take a child centred approach while at the same time working closely with families. I share information where appropriate aiming to support not only the child’s needs but also the parents/carers.
In my 5 years of professional experience, I have worked in both primary and secondary settings including a special education provision for teenagers who have experienced a range of complex developmental trauma. I am passionate about supporting young people grow and flourish and determined to work alongside them to build solid, safe and supportive relationships, and environments.
Specialisms

Practice description
I make use of a wide range of psychotherapeutic and psychoanalytic theories to create a safe and secure space for children and adolescents to properly work through what is troubling them. Every child is unique, and I use my knowledge of theory and psychotherapeutic practice to tailor make the most effective way of helping the child and or parents in front of me, transforming psychological struggles through relationship. This regularly combines cutting edge findings from neuroscience and the impact that our emotional, social and environmental world has on the brain and biology of children and adolescents. I find the healing power of art, play, drama, music and movement therapy useful mediums with which to explore the transformation of these relationships to self, others and our environment. In my previous career I was a theatre maker and regularly draw on my experience of how narrative and story form an integral way that we make sense of the world and our place in it. I take a somatic approach to my practice by using a trauma informed approach to co-create safety in the therapy room.
My first session
Please first get in touch via email or telephone and then I will send over a referral form which has questions for you and the nature of your enquiry. I don't charge for this part of the process. Once this is completed and if I believe I am the right therapist for your enquiry we can discuss fees via email and arrange an initial consultation which I will charge for.
I aim to have an initial consultation with you and then 3-4 sessions of assessment with the person who will be receiving therapy. After this I will suggest another consultation where we can discuss a treatment plan which will include a block of therapy we agree to.
