About me and my therapy practice
Whatever feelings you are struggling with, I offer somewhere for you to bring all aspects of yourself, whether it be for example, feelings of anger, guilt, shame, overwhelm, worry or anxiety. Perhaps you are grappling with a diagnosis or life change. I work in a curious and mindful way to help you gain a sense of control and connect with your real self. We work together to explore and try to make sense of how your issues are affecting you and your thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Clients find this leads to greater clarity and understanding which brings inner healing, and greater self acceptance. I will work with you just as you are. There is no pressure to speak about things you are not ready to or do not want to.
Practice description
My practice is located in Beckenham, less than 5 minutes walk from Clock house station.
Building a relationship where you feel safe enough to express thoughts and feelings without feeling judged is key to our work. This may happen over a few weeks or it may be longer term. I am very much guided by you and by what your particular needs and motivations are at this time.
Clients find that commitment to therapy leads to deeper clarity, self acceptance and understanding and lessening feelings of distress.
I am also a peer group facilitator for a large charity and with a background as a registered nurse, have experience in private residential mental health and addiction recovery and have been supporting individuals for over 20 years.

My first session
Our first session or two are an assessment of your needs and to establish where you are with things. It is also a chance for you to decide if you would like further sessions or not and for us to see how we might work together and for us to ask questions. It can take time to build a trusting relationship and I will not rush you to make any decisions if you are not sure. Therapy usually takes place each week at the same time, although there is flexibility. It goes at your pace and you can talk about whatever you feel you want to at that time. Our initial session together and any ongoing sessions last for 50 minutes. I work in an open ended way and some people find they need longer term therapy whilst others may have just a few sessions.
