About me and my therapy practice
I'm Alessandra, an MÍø±¬ÃÅ-accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist, currently in the final stages of UKCP-advanced clinical training in Psychosynthesis — a depth-oriented, integrative model that honours the whole person: body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
Originally from Brazil and based in London since 1999, I offer a therapeutic space grounded in warmth, presence, and cultural sensitivity. I support adults navigating anxiety, trauma, burnout, identity exploration, and a longing for a more meaningful and authentic life. My practice is also neuroaffirming, welcoming those with autism, ADHD, and other forms of neurodiversity.
My approach invites deep listening to your inner world — including early emotional wounds, subpersonalities, and the deeper Self — the source of clarity, resilience, and transformation.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, fragmented, or simply seeking something more, I offer a confidential space for your experience to unfold — held with care, respect, and curiosity.
Diverse Expertise
I’m an MÍø±¬ÃÅ (Accred) Counsellor and Psychotherapist, currently in the final stages of a UKCP-accredited advanced clinical training — part of a transformative personal and professional journey that began in 2019.
My academic background includes a 2:1 BSc in Psychology (researching how acts of kindness supported wellbeing during COVID-19), a PGDip and an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology (with a dissertation on motherhood and the therapeutic space), and an MSc in Occupational Therapy, where I’m exploring how mindfulness supports compassionate care. This October, I begin a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at the University of Oxford.
Since 2017, I’ve worked across education, private practice, NHS mental health services, and the charity sector (including Mind). These experiences have deepened my clinical insight, strengthened my ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, and shaped my culturally attuned, inclusive therapeutic practice.
Practice description
My Approach
Integrative, Relational, and Depth-Oriented
At the heart of my work is an integrative approach grounded in Psychosynthesis — a therapeutic model that honours the whole person: mind, body, feelings, and spirit. Whether you're navigating life transitions, wrestling with inner conflicts, or longing for deeper self-understanding, Psychosynthesis offers a powerful framework for healing, integration, and transformation. It invites a reconnection with your authentic self and life purpose, helping you move toward greater balance, clarity, and meaning.
Psychosynthesis holds a deep trust in our natural tendency to heal, even in the face of trauma and adversity. It recognises that survival strategies developed in response to wounding may later limit our expression, connection, and sense of self. Through this work, we begin to include — rather than exclude — all parts of ourselves, fostering inner harmony and new possibilities. Creativity, relational presence, and self-awareness are all welcomed as pathways to growth.
The Therapeutic Space
A Warm, Inclusive Environment for Growth
My practice is rooted in lived experience, academic inquiry, and front-line therapeutic work — offering a grounded, inclusive space for healing. I welcome all parts of your experience, with sensitivity to the impact of trauma, culture, neurodiversity, and social context. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply sensing that something in your life wants to shift, I offer a calm and compassionate space where transformation becomes possible.
My first session
First session
Before our first session, I'll send you a questionnaire to gather some background information and understand the issues you'd like to explore. This helps me gain a broad sense of you and your needs before we begin. Please return the completed questionnaire at least two days before our first session, so I have time to read it.
Location
I offer therapy both in-person, at my private practice in North London , or online via Zoom , making it accessible no matter where you are in the world. Sessions are 50 minutes long, typically conducted on a weekly basis, and can be structured as either short-term or long-term depending on your goals.
For those who feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their native language, I’m also fluent in Portuguese and offer therapy in this language.
