About me and my therapy practice
I have extensive experience working with adults, children and young people, including those who are vulnerable or at risk.
I have an up to date Enhanced DBS Check and in depth / extensive Safeguarding and Child Protection certifications.
I have worked in a variety or settings, including schools, hospices, voluntary sector, crisis support, and private practice (Face to face, online and outdoors).
The foundation of my work is humanistic / person-centred and also trauma informed.
I started introductory training in 2010, practicing as a counsellor in 2012 and graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2016, gaining a First Class with Honours degree in BA (Hons) Humanistic Counselling Practice. Since then I have continued to engage in a wide and diverse range of Continuing Professional Development courses and gain real world experience.
Practice description
As with all relationships, therapeutic relationships are not one size fit all. People come to counselling/psychotherapy for their own unique reasons and that is what I work with, you as a unique person and client.
In that space we can explore and work together with whatever presents itself, whether that is:
- what brought you to therapy
- unpacking and exploring who you are as a person today
- where you are in life
- treading the path together on your journey through life's challenges
- healing, growing and developing into all of who you are and can be
- whatever else it is you need from therapy
Please make contact with me by email - adam@cpcat.co.uk, from there we can discuss a way forward for you, make an appointment (or not) and answer any questions that you may have. This will also give you an opportunity to tell me a little about what is going on for you.
My first session
Before our first session I will ask you for some personal details so I can create a record for you. These will be stored securely in line with my GDPR compliant privacy policy.
I am happy to have a brief initial conversation (up to 30 mins) before our first session to decide if we are the right fit for each other.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Child related issues, Cultural issues, Depression, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Men's issues, Neurodiversity, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Self esteem, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues
