About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for support can be one of the hardest and bravest steps to take. Finding the right therapist is just as important as deciding to begin therapy. If you have made it this far, welcome; I hope you acknowledge your effort and are proud of it.I have always been passionate about health and fascinated by the ways human beings preserve it. I originally trained as a research scientist and spent years researching the immune system. I later completed my MBA and worked as a strategy consultant in life sciences & healthcare. Corporate demands left me burnt out and feeling empty and as the pandemic hit, I understood that mental wellbeing was central to health. Subsequently, I trained as an integrative counsellor and coach to equip myself to better help others. My career has been rooted in improving health outcomes- first in laboratories, then boardrooms and finally in a therapeutic space. I can tell you that this last opportunity has been the most rewarding!
I have experienced big transitions in my personal life, pivoted multiple times professionally all of which has led to my life's mission to help my clients through any life transition. This could be related to traumas, life-stages, identities, relationships, education, career, health or the environment.
Practice description
When I tell people that I am an integrative therapist and coach, I get many questions around what it means to be one. What exactly does this integration bring together? Let me break it down for you.
I integrate different types of therapy based on my client's need (e.g. Humanistic, Psychodynamic, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Gestalt, ACT (Acceptance Commitment Therapy), breathwork, mind-body practices etc) with coaching so that we can not only learn from the past but also practically weave these lessons into a future that you want to create.
A relational approach is central to my therapy, as healing happens with the support of an empathetic and authentic witness. I will listen deeply and provide you a trustworthy space to talk; sessions with me will be conversational, engaging and warm. I won't sit back and silently witness struggle but instead make you an active agent in achieving your life goals. Most importantly, I work on building and maintaining trust throughout my sessions and rely on regular client feedback to ensure you get the best out of our time together.
