About me and my therapy practice
I support people facing depression, anxiety, and life’s challenges to build confidence, find connection, and create a more fulfilling life.
I love working with people from different backgrounds and identities, including those who have ADHD or are autistic.
My approach is warm, affirming, and tailored to each person’s unique needs, helping them navigate challenges in a way that feels right for them. Whether someone is struggling with self-doubt, loneliness, or big life transitions, I provide a space to explore, grow, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Practice description
I work weekly with clients, the sessions take 50 minutes and cost £40-50 an hour. In the first session, we always go through the therapy agreement, that agreement tells you about the expectations you can have of me and I will have of you.
When the work is online, and I’ll be on camera, if this makes you feel uncomfortable you are welcome to turn your camera off.
Generally, I will start by checking in to see how you are doing. Sometimes people turn up ready to get right into it, sometimes people want to name some of the stressful things that are going on in their lives. I might summarise some of what we talked about in the last session. I then usually ask what you would like to talk about in that session, or where you would like to begin.
Every six sessions I have a mini-review with clients, which gives a space to check in with how you are feeling about things, whether there is anything you would like to change about the way we work, and whether you feel like you want to work towards a conclusion. It’s also a place for you to offer feedback if you feel comfortable doing so and reflect on how our relationship might be growing.
My in person sessions take place at Shirehampton Public Hall, which has good transport links. There is on-street parking. There is a small step up into the therapy room, but the room is on the ground floor.
My first session
I offer a free introductory chat. This is an opportunity for us to discuss working together, and I will ask you about what's prompted you to consider therapy, your experience working with therapists before and your general mental health. We can also discuss our potential availabilities. There is no pressure to commit to anything on that call. If you go away and decide you would like to book in for weekly sessions I'll ask you to complete a short intake form and sign the therapy agreement.
