About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Harriet and I am a qualified, registered and experienced humanistic counsellor. I understand that by getting this far that you have made an important and courageous first step in tackling whatever may be troubling you; you're not alone and I am here to support you with your next steps by offering a professional, warm and accepting environment, free of any judgments, where you are invited to work through and discuss whatever you need to. I am experienced to help with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, stress and low self esteem. In addition, I have experience of working in a hospice and a national bereavement charity with the bereaved, those in anticipatory bereavement and patients. My experience also extends to part-time counselling work at a charity in Surrey.
Practice description
I practice face to face out of my dedicated counselling rooms at the top of the Causeway in central Horsham (Horsham Therapy Rooms) and also via online video calls or telephone.
Sometimes our experiences in life can feel very distressing and overwhelming or it could be that there are no obvious reasons for feeling sad or anxious and that is ok; together we can unravel your reasons for seeking counselling and help you to gain a feeling of more control and acceptance of how you are feeling. I feel that it can be a real comfort to be able to talk freely to another party, without judgment. I will always endeavour to listen to your concerns and experiences in a manner that will allow you the opportunity to discover what the best way forward is for you.
My first session
I know that it can a big step to seek support from another and I would like to reassure you that I will listen and respond to you with compassion and respect at all times. I am happy to offer a free 15 minute consultation to hear what you would like help with, to explain a little bit about who I am and what I do and to answer any questions you may have. If you are happy to go ahead with sessions after this then we can arrange a mutually convenient day and time to meet online.
