About me and my therapy practice
If you’ve spent a long time tuning in to what others need, you might find it hard to know what you need — or even what you feel. You might notice that your sense of worth rises and falls depending on how people respond to you. Over time, that can leave you anxious, unseen, and unsure of who you really are.
In my work, I offer a calm, steady space where you can begin to turn towards yourself. A space where your thoughts, feelings, and needs are welcome — even if you’re not sure what they are yet. I believe therapy begins with safety and connection: a genuine, human relationship where you can be heard and understood without having to perform or please.
I work relationally and trauma-informed, with a warm, gentle style that helps you build self-trust at your own pace. My approach is collaborative — I’m not here as an expert on your life, but as someone who walks alongside you as you begin to listen more closely to your own inner voice.
Some people I work with have experienced relationships, families, or faith settings where their individuality was overlooked or discouraged. Others simply sense that they’ve lost touch with themselves. However it shows up, I aim to offer a space where you can explore what’s shaped you and begin to feel more rooted in who you are.
Therapy with me isn’t about trying to change yourself, but about rediscovering the parts of you that have been hidden, silenced, or ignored. From that place of gentleness and curiosity, a sense of inner tethering — of safety and belonging — can begin to grow.
Practice description
I’m an integrative, trauma-informed counsellor drawing on Person-Centred, Gestalt, Mindfulness and CBT approaches. In practice, this means we might explore your patterns of thought and behaviour, your emotional process, or the ways you relate to others — always with care, curiosity, and respect for your pace.
My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens through relationship. Together, we pay attention to what’s happening between us as a way of understanding how you’ve learned to be in the world — and what might need to shift for you to feel more free and at ease.
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling anxious, self-critical, or unsure of who they are. You may have learned to meet others’ needs before your own, or to seek approval to feel safe. Over time, that can leave you feeling unanchored or emotionally disconnected. Our work can help you recognise these patterns, make sense of where they come from, and begin to develop a stronger, kinder sense of self.
I have a particular interest in supporting people who are navigating spiritual trauma or deconstruction, especially where religious or cultural environments have shaped your self-worth or made it hard to trust your own inner guidance. I hold this work with care and sensitivity, creating space for you to find meaning that feels authentic and grounded.
Therapy is not about fixing you — it’s about creating the conditions for you to reconnect with yourself. My hope is that through our work together, you find a sense of inner safety, confidence, and belonging that endures beyond the therapy room.
My first session
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re used to managing alone or putting others first. The first session is a gentle chance to get to know each other and see how it feels to work together. There is no obligation to continue; it is important to find a counsellor that you feel comfortable with.
You’re welcome to come just as you are. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here and what you’d like to be different — whether that’s something clear or a sense that things just don’t feel right.
We’ll also go over how I work, confidentiality, and what feels possible within the scope of counselling. This helps us create a shared understanding of the process and what you might need from it.
You might leave with a sense of relief, or simply with more space to breathe. Either way, it’s a beginning — a place to start making sense of things together, at your own pace, with warmth, honesty, and care.
If this sounds like what you are looking for, I'd be very pleased to hear from you!
