Availability

I am a registered member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ with face to face and online  experience. I have experience in helping adults and young people. My main area of work is centred on focusing on the cause of substance misuse and relapse, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, as well as helping with finding underlying causes of anxiety and depression and looking at developing new coping skills.

As an integrative counsellor I use Person centred counselling skills, alongside Attachment styles, Solution focused, CBT, Psycho-dynamic and Psycho-eduction. The use of Psycho-Education can sometimes help explain why you maybe feeling a certain way, and being able to understand the theory's behind them to help you on your journey.

As I work in Substance Misuse and if you would like to talk to me about this, I need to make you aware I am not trained in specific addiction counselling so I am unable to offer you this or addiction CBT. Please look at other profiles to see if they can support you.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. It’s important that you decide what you would like your sessions to be focused on. Together we can help create realistic goals using an holistic approach which meet your unique and specific needs. This can be done via video or phone calls. 

Ultimately theses are your sessions for you to talk about what you would like to, in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential place. 

It takes courage to seek a counsellor to explore your thoughts and feelings with, and to take the first steps towards change. 

About me and my therapy practice

I describe myself as a Pluralistic Counsellor which means that I allow my clients to choose which model of counselling they feel would be more preferable to them. 

My clients can choose how often they would like to have sessions. Some may prefer to have weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions, just as a check in, which ever is more convenient.

When starting counselling sessions you may wish to work towards a set of goals in a short time period, or feel it may be more beneficial to have open ended sessions. This will help to provide the time, to cover a range of topics that you feel you maybe struggling with day to day. Together we can hopefully find some coping mechanisms and try to discover the root cause as to why these feelings are occurring in the first place.

My first session

I offer a free 20 min call via zoom or phone, this is a quick introduction to see if we have a connection. It's important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor as being able to create a therapeutic relationship is important. 

During the call, we can discuss how I work and what you would like to achieve out of the sessions.
