About me and my therapy practice

I use an integrative, humanistic, person-centered approach to therapy tailored to your needs.

I provide a safe, warm space for us to address your concerns.

Many of us carry trauma from past experiences; together, we can gently explore these influences and adjust coping mechanisms that no longer serve you, following your unique rhythm.

I believe you have inherent wisdom about your feelings and help you tune into your body and nervous system for healing. My work incorporates embodied approaches; I have completed year 1 of the three-year training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.

Sometimes it is hardest to find compassion for ourselves and shame and self-criticism can further exacerbate our suffering. I also emphasize self-compassion, which is essential for resilience and personal growth.

For couple therapy, I use the renowned Gottman approach to nurture healthy relationships. With a compassionate and evidence-based methodology, I guide couples through challenges, foster communication, and strengthen emotional bonds. I aim to create a safe space for you to explore, heal, and grow towards a more fulfilling and harmonious relationship.

All couples are welcome, regardless of sexual orientation, relationship status or cultural, religious, racial or ethnic background.

I can work in English and French so each partner can express themselves freely in their own language as much as possible.

A registered member of the 网爆门, I hold a MA in Counselling, as well as a PhD in Anthropology. I am a Professional Member of the American Counselling Association and am an individual member of the Swiss Counselling Association entitled to use the specialist title 鈥淐ounsellor SGfB鈥. A native Brit, I am married to a Frenchman and have lived, worked and travelled in various countries including France, Switzerland, Germany, Argentina and Tunisia. I am bilingual and work in English and/ or French.

Practice description

Living abroad can be an exciting adventure and can also bring challenges such as stress, anxiety and relationship issues or exacerbate pre-existing trauma. For couples, building a life together in a new country can be exciting - and sometimes overwhelming.

For indivduals, counselling is an effective way to find extra support in dealing with life鈥檚 challenges and our responses to traumatic events. It can help relieve distress, improve coping skills and resilience and promote your flourishing as a whole and healthy person.

I combine talk therapy with body-based techniques to help you feel calmer, stronger and more at home in yourself - wherever you are in the world.

The cornerstone is the creation of a warm, accepting and supportive therapeutic relationship.

In couples therapy, I use the Gottman Method, a research-based approach that teaches practical tools for better communication, deeper understanding and lasting connection.

As an anthropologist, I also bring special insight into the ways culture and identity shape relationships.

My first session

I offer an initial video call, free of charge, so that you can get to know me and we can decide if we are a good fit, before you decide to start working with me.

After this, for individuals, the first session is to start to get to know you and get a sense of your needs so that we can identify some initial goals for therapy and start building our therapeutic relationship.

In couple therapy, the first three sessions involve a deep dive into your relationship. We will explore both the strengths and challenges. I will ask you some questions about the history of your relationship, as well as the issue bringing you to therapy. I will then spend some time with each of you individually to get a sense of your personal history and concerns. You will also complete a detailed questionnaire online following the evidence-based Gottman Method. This will help you set goals for therapy and provides a firm foundation for our work together.
