About me and my therapy practice
There are many ways to talk about psychotherapy. The way that makes the most sense to me is through the concepts of connection, disconnection, and reconnection.
Many of the reasons people look for therapy — persistent anxiety or depression, relationship difficulties, past experiences, internal struggles —can be understood as experiences of disconnection. You may be feeling disconnected from yourself, your past, your values, your body, your relationships, or the world around you.
I see my practice as offering a space to both expand awareness of that disconnection and to experience reconnection, however that looks for you. To support this, I draw on the various therapeutic approaches I’m trained in, tailoring the work to suit you best.
I believe it’s important that you feel empowered in the evolving therapeutic process and that it works for you. To support this, I suggest periodic reviews to reflect on how therapy is going, allowing us to make any necessary adjustments to our work.
I have extensive experience working with a wide range of experiences such as:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Self-esteem and self-worth
- Neurodivergence and related diagnoses
- Personality disorder and related diagnoses
- Bereavement and grief
- Relationship difficulties
- Attachment and abandonment issues
- Career challenges
- Burn out and chronic stress
- Trauma experiences
- Panic attacks and phobias
- Sex and intimacy concerns
This is not an exhaustive list and if you're left wondering whether we can work together, I'm always happy to chat.
I strongly believe therapy has the potential to benefit everyone. I welcome and work with people of all life stages, sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultural backgrounds.
I offer a free, no-commitment, 20 minute video call as a first step. This is an opportunity to meet one another and for you to get a sense of whether you want to begin working together - I invite any and all questions!
Practice description
In practice, my work follows the person-centred principle of trusting and following your sense of what matters most in the process of exploring disconnection and experiencing reconnection.
I am integratively trained, meaning I draw on various approaches to find a unique way of working that suits you. My principle training is in the Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Psychodynamic approaches to therapy - I'm happy to talk about any of these in more detail. I have also found existentialist and mindfulness-based practices extremely helpful in my work.
In sessions I may offer insights, reflections, challenges, experiments, creative activities, or somatic exercises. I am also trained in trauma-informed approaches that prioritise safety and empowerment, in neurodivergence-affirmative practice that values diverse ways of thinking and experiencing the world, and in supporting Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) with sensitivity and respect.
What I can help with
