Availability
My working days are Tues-Fri 9:00am -4/4:30pm.
I predominantly offer 1:1 face-to face therapy sessions and virtual DDP therapy sessions as part of a programme of therapy, should initial assessment indicate this is needed. As I work with trauma it is essential any re-processing work is done face-to-face but a mix of face-to-face and 1:1 work can be offered for highly anxious young people.
I do not offer therapy at home unless under exceptional circumstances.
About me and my therapy practice
I own a home-based private practice and have a dedicated private therapy room.
I am a full trained holistic therapist, trauma focused creative psychotherapist, play therapist and DDP practitioner in training. I have been working therapeutically with children, young people, their families and team around the child in various settings such as school, social care and children’s mental health for the last 6 years.
I have a plethora of experience in working with children and young people with neurodivergence and trauma. I myself have ADHD and I am a parent of children with Autism and ADHD, therefore have a deeper understanding of the impact of neurodivergence.
I offer 1:1 Trauma informed Play Therapy, trauma re-processing using CATT, Trauma Focused CBT, Theraplay based parent sessions for separation anxiety, attachment issues and post adoption parenting support. As well as Dyadic DDP informed sessions and therapeutic parenting coaching sessions.
Practice description
I provide a child-friendly, person-centred, trauma informed, safe, private therapy space and my focus is mainly on trauma processing work and PTSD. However I can work with and have had experience of working with a wide variety of mental health presentations such as:
Anxiety (social, separation and generalised), PTSD, phobias, low self-esteem, selective mustim, behavioural issues, single event trauma and developmental trauma, low self-esteen and emotional dysregulation accompanied with neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD), support following domestic or sexual abuse and peer trauma/bullying.
My first session
I will require an initial assessment and outcome measures (such as SDQ, CRIES 8, PTSD measure/s and treatment goals ) will be required at assessment.
Assessments can be done face-to-face or virtually. My advisories will then be fed back and if you decide to begin therapy, the initial assessment charge will be taken off of you first installment when block booking your initial sessions.
Please note - I do not offer short-term solution focused therapy. For the type of therapy I offer, ethical standards denote that a minimum commitment of 12-18 sessions be made (depending on the therapy offered) by parents/carers and young people. I may not be able to guarantee particular days or times due to availability. I will however try to provide a consistent day and time for sessions to help create stability and safety.
