About me and my therapy practice
鈥淪o, before you dismiss something as boring or irrelevant, remember, if you truly want to understand the present or yourself, you must begin in the past. You see, history is not simply the study of the past. It is an explanation of the present.鈥 鈥 Paul Hunham, The Holdovers (2023)
You鈥檝e probably scrolled through a dozen therapist profiles by now鈥攕o let鈥檚 cut to the chase. I鈥檓 Elia Ciucurita, an art psychotherapist at HQ Therapy Rooms in Haggerston, Hackney, London E8. Therapy with me isn鈥檛 about ticking boxes or nodding politely鈥攊t鈥檚 about real connection, honest conversations, and a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and accepted. If you鈥檙e ready to dive deeper, let鈥檚 talk.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in hospitality and childcare, and I鈥檝e also supported young people with autism and learning difficulties in school settings. These experiences taught me the importance of warmth, patience, and flexibility鈥攓ualities I bring into my therapy practice. My experience as a therapist includes working within NHS mental health services, forensic settings, and volunteering in addiction support services.
I have a deep interest in working with people facing family conflicts, relationship breakdowns, cultural transitions, and struggles with addiction. If you鈥檙e feeling lost, overwhelmed, or stuck, I鈥檓 here to help you navigate those feelings in a way that feels safe and empowering.
I offer therapy in English and Romanian and primarily work face-to-face, though online sessions are available when needed.
Practice description
Art therapy is a powerful way to explore thoughts and feelings that might be difficult to express with words alone. You don鈥檛 need to be an artist鈥攋ust open to the process. Through creativity, we can reconnect with lost or neglected parts of ourselves, uncover inner strengths, and make sense of life鈥檚 challenges. At the heart of my work is a relational approach to therapy, which means I believe healing happens through relationships鈥攂oth with ourselves and with others. Many of our struggle鈥檚 stem from early relational patterns, and therapy offers a chance to explore these dynamics in a safe, supportive space.
I hold a Master鈥檚 degree in Integrative Art Psychotherapy and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (网爆门) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
