About me and my therapy practice
I have qualified as a counsellor later in my life after experiencing the power of counselling to support myself and others around me. Seeking help and support can be a scary process, one that requires bravery and determination.
I will offer you a calm, supportive relationship where I take the time to understand with you the challenges you have experienced that have brought you to counselling.
I am empathic, compassionate, thoughtful and caring and will hopefully help you to feel these feelings towards yourself and the challenges you face.
I have experience in supporting children and young people from age 11 upwards, and younger and older adults.
My main experience is working with childhood trauma, including sexual abuse, neglect and abandonment, post-traumatic stress and complex trauma, complex bereavement, health-related issues, relationship issues, including domestic abuse. I have experience of working with clients with neurodiverse needs, including Autism, ADD and ADHD, and a variety of physical health needs.
Practice description
I am a trained person-centred counsellor offering integrative therapy. This means that I believe you are the expert in what is right for you.
I aim to help you explore your feelings and experiences so that you can make the best choices for yourself. I use my knowledge and experience to support you in integrating a variety of modalities and theories to suit your experiences and needs.
My first session
Our first 30-minute session on the phone or online will be free with no obligation to continue. This is because the counselling relationship is so important. I will explain how I work, and find out from you what has brought you to counselling so that we can both be sure that I can support you.
