About me and my therapy practice

I know. Where you even start? How can you pick someone from a picture and some text when it feels so personal and daunting? Well, I'm here to make that process easier, simpler and hopefully even enjoyable.

I’m an integrative therapist, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic models to suit each client’s unique needs, personality, and pace. Whether we’re talking in a room, walking side by side in nature (yes, I offer walk-and-talk therapy!), or sitting cross-legged on the floor with felt-tip pens in hand - I aim to meet my clients in their world, not mine.

I have a specialism in working with children and young people, the wonderfully complex, curious, and courageous humans navigating a sometimes-overwhelming world, but also work with adults. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy, nor do I believe therapy is about 'fixing' you. At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to acceptance, non-judgement, and helping people feel truly seen and valued, just as they are. I am passionate about my clients and my work, which is about making sense of things, together.

You aren't broken, you may just be stuck in something painful or uncomfortable that, with help, you can move through. It’s about gently untangling the knots, sitting with the messiness, and slowly giving you a sense of control back over your story.

Whether a person feels lost, angry, anxious, flat, or just a bit out of step, my role is to walk alongside them with compassion, curiosity, and sometimes a bit of creative flair if that is what they want. You will lead the way, because you are the expert of your world. We might use talking, art, movement, or metaphor, I expect my dog will want to get involved, or I will just listen - whatever helps your inner world feel a little more understandable.

Therapy with me is a gentle invitation to feel heard, to be curious, and to remember that it’s okay not to have it all figured out. It's what we will work towards, together.

Practice description

I’m an Íø±¬ÃÅ registered therapist working from my home practice in Eling, Totton. I am neurodiverse (ADHD) which means sitting still in long periods of silence doesn't come naturally to me!

I offer a relaxed, informal, and welcoming environment where the aim is to make you feel as comfortable and as at ease as possible. There’s no clinical stiffness here, just a warm, safe space where you can be yourself and tell me what you want and need.

I don’t have a waiting room, but toilet facilities are available and you are able to park outside, or there are shops and cafe's a short distance away.

I’m flexible and approachable, and I do my best to meet you where you are. Alongside my private practice, I also teach counselling to adults from across the world. I also work with children with special educational needs in a mainstream secondary school, and support clients through a charity in Andover. These varied experiences help inform my practice and keep me grounded in real-world challenges and strengths.

If you have any questions or needs, feel free to ask, this is something that should feel good, not scary. You should feel safe, seen, and supported in therapy.

My first session

Here is what to expect when you start therapy with me:

1. Initial Contact – No Pressure, No Cost

First, we’ll connect by email, phone, or text – whatever works best for you. The website gives you some details, but this is a chance for us to explore whether we might be a good fit and talk about what you want and need. It’s completely free, and there’s no limit to how many messages or calls it takes.

2. The First Session – Assessment (£30)

Your first session will be an assessment. This is the first time you’ll come to the therapy room (or  online/a chosen space), and it’s all about getting a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me, the space, and the way I work. I will also evaluate if I am the best person to work with the issues that you are presenting.

You will have two options:

1. Complete an intake form beforehand which I'll send you, which we’ll review together in the assessment

2. Or we can do the assessment together during the session – totally up to you.

The session usually lasts around an hour. You’re free to ask any questions, explore how sessions work, and decide what feels right for you. If you are a child or young person, whoever referred you is usually present for this, to discuss consent, sign forms and agree contractual terms. However, should you wish to attend alone and self-refer, that is also fine. After this, we set up our plan moving forwards - when you want the sessions, how often, what for and anything else we need to agree. Next stop, putting you back in the drivers seat of your world and wellbeing! I can't wait to meet you, good luck and well done so far!
