About me and my therapy practice
I, believe that developing our awareness of self is a fundamental part of growth and self understanding.
Without self exploration, it is difficult to navigate a path to experiencing real happiness and self fulfillment.
I offer a space and that is supportive and non judgmental.
I offer myself as a person that is supportive and non-judgmental.
I, offer a space where thoughts, feelings and personal behaviours and processes can be explored, understood and changed where necessary.
Understanding self can be a timely process meaning the journey may take time and therefore working with each person at their own speed is integral to the therapeutic process.
I, as part of my practice, engage in therapy to look after myself.
I also engage with a supervisor to ensure my professional practice remains professional.
I work both long and short term therapy. I am guided by your process.
I work with love and understanding.
Practice description
A relaxed space with a relaxed person, with whom you can identify what works for you and what your needs are that need to be met.
I have a foundation degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy and a Diploma in Addiction Counselling.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Psychotherapy and Counselling (Íø±¬ÃÅ).
My physical space is at The Awareness Centre in Tooting Bec.
I, believes that if we are to maximise our potential in life, we must first develop a healthy sense of self.
I, offer my clients a space where life's difficulties can be shared without judgement or bias. I, am well aware that sharing can be difficult and daunting, I am patient and gentle. I take great care to ensure that the individual feels safe, secure, and heard.
As an integrative therapist I, like to explore all aspects of of an individuals life.
My practice is underpinned by a comprehensive understanding of, how the "idea of self" is formed during early interactions in childhood years, in adolescent years and how it matures in the adult years which is often the underlying creator for problematic thoughts, feelings, and actions in adult life.
My first session
The initial (and following few) session is a space created to primarily get a sense of whether this feels right for both therapist and the individual seeking support.
The therapeutic relationship is built on honesty.
Honesty regarding feeling safe in the session, and having the strength to let go if it is not working for you.
This means that we together create a space where you give yourself permission to opt out.
Within the first two sessions, we complete a small information gathering assessment.
