About me and my therapy practice
I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting. That’s why my priority is to create a safe, welcoming environment where you can explore whatever you’re facing - at your own pace and in your own way.
My approach is based on the belief that therapy works through being truly heard, developing a deeper understanding of ourselves, and releasing emotions that may have been pushed aside. Therapy can be a place to reflect on our relationships in order to make them more harmonious and satisfying. It can help us to process difficult experiences, but it is also about opening the door to more joy, vitality, and connection in our lives.
In our sessions, you’ll have the space to talk about whatever feels most pressing. I’ll reflect back what stands out and gently explore themes or patterns with you. I may also offer perspectives you haven’t considered before. Our work is a collaboration - always guided by what feels right and useful for you.
I also bring to my practice a background in mindfulness, yoga, breathwork, and meditation. These tools can be especially helpful in regulating the nervous system and supporting emotional balance. I often integrate somatic approaches into therapy, as the body holds vital clues to our emotional lives - especially when it comes to trauma. By gently tuning into bodily sensations, we can release tension and gain access to parts of ourselves that words alone can’t reach.
I welcome clients who want to explore identity in all its complexity - whether that includes race, gender, sexuality, class, ability, or neurodiversity. I also support people navigating spiritual questions or those wanting to integrate experiences with non-ordinary states of consciousness. You're welcome to bring your whole self into this work.
Practice description
My training at The Minster Centre included the study of humanistic, psychodynamic, existential, transpersonal, and somatic psychotherapy. Before starting my private practice, I spent a number of years working with Headstrong Counselling and later St Joseph’s Hospice, supporting clients through a wide range of challenges including grief and loss.
I offer sessions both in person and online. My standard fee is between £70 and £90 for a 50 minute session, depending on your circumstances. I also offer some concessionary spaces - so please don’t hesitate to reach out, even if cost is a concern.
I believe finding the right therapist is key, which is why I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call. It’s a chance for you to get a sense of what it might be like to work together - and to ask any questions you might have.
If you're interested in a chat or ready to schedule a first session, I’d love to hear from you.
