About me and my therapy practice
I am a Counselling Psychologist offering therapy to adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I am registered with the Íø±¬ÃÅ and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and I am a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
My approach is active and collaborative. I place great emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their experiences and take steps towards the life they want to live.
Practice description
My therapeutic approach is highly individualised, recognising that each client is unique. My training and experience draw on cognitive-behavioural, existential, humanistic and psychodynamic approaches, as well as schema therapy. I have a particular interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps reduce the impact of painful thoughts and feelings while supporting action towards a life that is rich, full and meaningful.
My first session
The first session offers an opportunity for us to get to know one another and explore what has brought you to therapy. We will clarify the areas you would like to focus on and begin to consider how we might work together. There will also be space to ask any questions or raise any concerns about the process.
