About me and my therapy practice

Being a young person today comes with unique challenges. I provide a safe and supportive space for children, adolescents, and young adults to explore their feelings, build resilience, and develop healthy ways of coping.

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I tailor my approach to the needs of my clients. In addition to talk therapy, I often work with the creative arts, play, metaphor, and mindfulness as this can help us to access feelings that words alone fail to express.

I am specifically trained and experienced in working with children and adolescents of all ages (4+). I have a particular interest and expertise in working with adolescents (11+) and young adults (up to 25).

Having worked for over 8 years in state, independent, international, and boarding schools, I have experience working with children and families from a wide range of cultural and social backgrounds. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming and centres an awareness of intersectionality.

Some of the areas I support with include anxiety, neurodiversity, low self-esteem, panic attacks, depression or low mood, trauma, stress, academic pressure, perfectionism, school avoidance, relationship difficulties, divorce, identity exploration, or grief.

My first session

I offer a free 30 minute consultation over the phone or on Zoom to understand more about what you are needing support with. This gives us a chance to decide whether working together feels right.

The first three sessions serve as an assessment period. After this time, I will invite parents of children under 16 in for a parental review session. During this initial parental review, I will take a developmental history and share my assessment and treatment plan. Depending on a child's needs, my treatment plan may include regular parenting reviews (e.g. every 6-8 weeks). Especially with younger children, I find that working systemically with parents/carers makes the therapy more effective.
