About me and my therapy practice

I am passionate about helping children and young people navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. As a specialist in anxiety-based issues, including OCD, I also support young people experiencing stress related to school and exams, low mood, friendship difficulties, bullying, and parental separation.

My approach is integrative, meaning I tailor therapy to meet each young person’s unique needs. Using evidence-based methods such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and compassion-focused therapy, I help children and teens develop coping strategies, emotional resilience, and self-compassion in a safe and supportive environment.

I am a fully registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ) and have extensive experience working with children, young people, and families in both private practice, school settings and early intervention.

Practice description

In my practice I provide a focused, personalised approach to understanding and managing anxiety, low mood, and other emotional difficulties. My work is strengths-based, helping young people feel understood, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to navigate life’s ups and downs. Sessions are collaborative and goal-oriented, ensuring therapy is effective and meaningful.

Common areas I support include:

Anxiety & OCD – Helping children manage intrusive thoughts, worries, and compulsions using ERP and ACT.

School & Exam Stress – Providing tools to manage academic pressure and test anxiety.

Friendship & Social Challenges – Supporting young people in building confidence and healthy relationships.

Bullying & Self-Esteem – Helping children process experiences, set boundaries, and rebuild confidence.

Parental Separation & Family Changes – Providing a safe space to explore emotions and adjust to change.

Low Mood & Emotional Wellbeing – Helping young people identify strengths and strategies to improve mood and motivation.

FAQs:

How much are sessions?

Each session costs £65 per session (assessment or therapy).

I offer an initial free 20-minute telephone consultation to all families who are considering private therapy for their child/teen. During the call I would gather more information about your concerns and check that I might be a suitable fit for your child. I will also answer any questions you might have about the process. Please get in touch for more information.

How long does a session last?

Each therapy session is 50 minutes long.

What happens in my first sessions?

The first session is an assessment. The assessment will cover a range of topics including the presenting concerns, the young person’s life in general, including their likes and dislikes, hopes for the future, their goals for any changes they might wish to make and the family history. Both the young person and a parent would usually be involved in the assessment, depending on the young person’s age and the family’s preference.

What about confidentiality?

The detailed content of sessions is usually kept confidential, other than discussion with clinical supervisor and your GP as standard. However, the exception to this would be if there was a concern about risk to someone, in which case information would need to be shared to ensure safety is maintained.
