About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Simone and i am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ. I offer a warm, non judgmental, safe space for you to explore your feelings and concerns. Depending on what you feel you need I can offer long term counselling or short term. I am able to offer face to face or online counselling therapy. The sessions are regularly reviewed to see how the therapy is progressing and to see what you would like to explore.
My theory style is Person Centered, following your agenda whilst reflecting back anything that might feel is significant to you, shedding light into how you experience life. This is done whilst being empathic, unconditional, positive and respectful. I work with the unconscious and past experiences where there may have been trauma, or repressed emotions like guilt and anger. I also work with a blend of cognitive behavioral therapies, which support breaking patterns of behavior that are no longer working for you. This can be done by working together on more helpful thoughts and belief systems you want to have.
I have counselled clients in areas such as anxiety, bereavement, sexual abuse, domestic violence, coercive control abuse, anger management, assertiveness, scrupulosity, food addiction and family breakdown. I work with clients who are neurodiverse.
Practice description
CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in therapeutic Counselling Íø±¬ÃÅ Approved Qualification.
Registered Member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ
I have been working with clients as a counselling trainee and qualified counsellor for 4 years, I have over 400 hours of client work. I work within my own private practice offering counselling sessions, face to face within a community center, or online. I provide an initial phone call session for free, to see if my service is the right fit for you, and to get to know each other a little regarding what you are looking for from counselling.
I want to make sure my clients feel they are being heard, and have the space to talk about any concerns they may have. The counselling relationship is built on a firm foundation of trust, which hopefully creates a comfortable environment to talk about difficulties and experiences. Clients can then move forward with more self awareness. This delicate balance is achieved through the counselling providing autonomy to the person looking for answers, sometimes over an isolated incident or it could be a 'lifetime pattern' of struggling. I can offer long term counselling or short term. I regularly review with my clients how their counselling sessions are going, if there goals are being met, if they have new issues they would like to bring to the surface. This gives the client a sense of what they have achieved or have yet to explore.
My first session
I go through a short assessment with all my clients on the first session, this covers practical information to ensure i provide 'best interests' therapeutic relationship for them and myself. This initial assessment is for free.
