Practice description

Empathy, warmth and safety

Life can be challenging, especially when personal struggles are shaped by external pressures, cultural expectations or rapid change. You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected - and that's understandable. I offer a safe, confidential and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, so that you feel seen and heard.

Through a psychodynamic approach, I can work with you to:

  • understand how past experiences shape your response to present challenges
  • express feelings that are difficult to express elsewhere without feeling judged
  • identify patterns that may be holding you back
  • build self-awareness and emotional resilience
  • navigate external influences and aspects of difference that may affect your emotional world

By focusing on what truly matters to you, we lay the foundation for a more purposeful and fulfilling life, create meaning from difficult experiences and develop opportunities for long lasting change.

My first session

My practice is centred on helping you ease into the process of therapy so that you can feel safe, in a confidential space, to be open about your experiences and feelings.  Each session uses the developing relationship to gain insights into what may be happening outside the therapy room and work through what comes up for you.

I like to think of therapy as a string of fairy lights, which despite all attempts, always seem to get tangled.  In the same way, we get into patterns of behaviour or cycles within relationships which repeat despite doing things differently.  By slowly unpicking at the lights, or memories, relationships and dynamics, we can work together to gain self-awareness and give you choice in how you move forward.

It's easy to get the process started for in-person or online therapy and counselling.

1 Free initial consultation - just fill out your details and we can organise an initial telephone discussion about what has brought you to therapy.

2 Assessment - this is an hour long session for me to get some background to what has brought you to therapy, your upbringing, family dynamics, previous therapy undertaken and current situation and relationships. This helps me to gain some understanding about your requirements and how I can help.

3 Ongoing sessions - we organise a regular time each week to explore your issues.
