About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for support can feel like a big step 鈥 especially if you鈥檙e feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. I offer a warm, welcoming space where you can begin to explore what鈥檚 going on at your own pace.
Some of the areas I work with include anxiety, depression, suicide, self-harm, life transitions, and neurodivergence 鈥 always in a way that is affirming, and grounded in who you are as a person. My aim is not to 鈥渇ix鈥 you, but to help you understand yourself better, and to walk alongside you as you make sense of whatever you鈥檙e facing.
I offer sessions in a comfortable and private room in Kilmarnock, which is easy to access and has on-site parking. If you prefer online sessions, I鈥檓 also happy to work with you remotely. Whether we meet in person or online, I work carefully to maintain that crucial condition of emotional safety 鈥 so you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged or rushed.
If you鈥檇 like to get in touch, you鈥檙e very welcome to send me an email or a text. I offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can ask any questions and get a sense of whether I might be the right fit for you. There鈥檚 no pressure to commit 鈥 just a gentle first step.
I鈥檓 a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (网爆门), and bring a wide-ranging perspective from working with young people across Scotland. Wherever you鈥檙e starting from, I鈥檇 be honoured to support you in your next steps.
Practice description
My counselling philosophy is rooted in the belief that when we feel safe 鈥 truly free from judgment or pressure 鈥 we鈥檙e more able to understand ourselves and make meaningful changes. That sense of emotional safety is at the heart of how I work. I aim to create a space that feels calm, open and accepting 鈥 where you can bring your whole self, no matter what you鈥檙e going through.
I鈥檓 an integrative counsellor with a humanistic foundation, meaning I adapt my approach to suit your unique needs while holding strong to the core values of empathy, respect and collaboration. Over the past few years, I鈥檝e worked with students at Ayrshire College and Edinburgh College, supporting young people through some of the most difficult and transformative stages of their lives. I have particular experience in working with people aged 16鈥25, but I welcome adults of all ages into my practice.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute consultation (by phone or video) before starting therapy. This gives you a chance to ask any questions, share what鈥檚 bringing you to counselling, and get a feel for how I work. It鈥檚 important to me that you feel comfortable and that we鈥檙e a good fit before beginning full sessions. There鈥檚 no pressure to commit 鈥 just space to explore whether this is the right support for you.Types of therapy
