About me and my therapy practice
Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, loss or family struggles? Are you experiencing challenges in your life such as a change in role or pace of life, adjusting to loss, family difficulties, struggling to adapt to unexpected changes, or finding it hard to find your place and know where you fit in?
Perhaps you feel frustrated, anxious, unheard or find it difficult to pinpoint just how you feel or to work out quite why you’re feeling this way.
Maybe you’re worried about relationships, find it difficult to communicate your needs or notice yourself repeating the same patterns of behaviour and want to make changes.
It could be that you’ve gone through life being the one who remains strong and doesn’t cry, resulting in you bottling things up and feeling like you could explode or you’ve always put others first and feel like you’ve lost your voice, your confidence, and who you are.
How counselling can help
Counselling can help in many ways, including;
• Finding peace, happiness and meaning as you adapt to life’s challenges.
• Communicating better to improve your relationships so you can feel heard and less frustrated.
• Managing anxiety which is holding you back, to help you live a fuller life.
• Exploring how past experiences or upbringing influence your present life so that you can choose your own future, break free from expectations placed on you and be yourself.
My experience
Over 25 yrs working in education and social care supporting children, teenagers and adults facing a wide range of challenges from learning disabilities to end of life care has given me invaluable insight into the many struggles families and individuals face at various stages in life. Being a part of people’s lives during difficult times has taught me a great deal of respect, empathy and determination to empower others to make their own choices and take control, leading me to this career as a counsellor.
