About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Natasha (she/her), and I’m the therapist behind Karuna Therapeutic Services. I’m a professionally accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor (NCPS), a qualified somatic trauma therapist, and a late-identified autistic adult. I work with neurodivergent clients—especially late-identified and high-masking autistic adults—who are exploring their identity, recovering from trauma, or seeking a deeper connection to themselves.
Clients often describe me as relatable, genuine, and refreshingly human. I’m not a blank-wall therapist—I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is central to healing. That means you’ll meet the real me in the room: grounded, compassionate, and fully present.
Who I Work With
My specialism is working with late-identified autistic adults and other high-masking neurodivergent clients. You may come to therapy feeling burnt out, confused, or unsure of how to move forward after years of masking or misattunement. You might be unpacking internalised ableism, processing relational trauma, or navigating the emotional impact of finally seeing yourself clearly.
I offer a space where we can explore your experiences together—at your pace, on your terms. You’ll be met with curiosity, compassion, and care.
A Final Word
Healing is not about fixing what's broken—it's about reconnecting with parts of you that have been silenced, overwhelmed, or misunderstood. I know the path to healing isn’t always easy, but I also know it’s possible—because I’ve walked it myself, and I’ve witnessed transformation in the lives of those I support.
If you're looking for a therapist who understands the neurodivergent experience from the inside out, and who works with both the body and the mind, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you
Practice description
Karuna Therapeutic Services offers neuroaffirming, trauma-informed counselling grounded in the three-phase trauma model, which supports safe, effective, and paced trauma recovery.
In our initial session, we’ll work collaboratively to explore your needs, goals, and intentions for therapy. This conversation helps shape a personalised plan for supporting your healing. I recognise that trauma exists on a spectrum and is deeply individual—so your therapy needs to reflect that. My approach is flexible, client-led, and centred on what feels right for you.
The foundation of trauma work is safety. Before processing traumatic memories or emotional pain, we focus on resourcing your nervous system—supporting regulation, grounding, and a sense of emotional balance. This stage is especially vital for clients navigating complex trauma, chronic burnout, or life as a high-masking neurodivergent person.
As a professionally accredited psychotherapeutic counsellor (NCPS) and a qualified somatic trauma therapist, I draw on a wide range of body-based and integrative approaches to support healing. I have worked with many people who’ve been given medicalised identifications such as PTSD, Complex PTSD, and Personality Disorders—and my work is always non-pathologising and anti-oppressive.
When you're ready and feel safe enough to explore trauma memories, we may draw on trauma reprocessing techniques including:
The Flash Technique
The Rewind Technique
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
These methods, along with breathwork, parts work, and somatic awareness, allow us to approach trauma in a way that’s gentle, empowering, and responsive to your body and nervous system.
By the end of our work together, my hope is that you’ll feel more connected to your own inner resources—equipped with knowledge, tools, and practices that help restore a sense of safety, choice, and self-trust in your daily life.
My first session
Before we meet for our first full session, we’ll usually have had a brief introductory consultation. This gives us both a chance to explore your hopes for therapy, ask questions, and get a sense of whether we’re a good fit.
In your first session, we’ll begin by revisiting your initial goals and checking in to see if anything has shifted. I’ll also ask a few questions to help ensure that you’re currently in a safe and stable place to begin therapeutic work.
My approach is client-led and responsive. While you’re free to bring whatever feels most important, I will always prioritise your emotional safety. If I notice signs of overwhelm or dysregulation during the session, I will gently pause the process and help you return to a grounded, more regulated state.
Trauma therapy does not need to be retraumatising. From the outset, I introduce psychoeducation about the nervous system and how trauma may show up in the body. I’ll also begin sharing somatic techniques that can support you in managing distress, building safety, and increasing self-awareness.
