About me and my therapy practice

Life can sometimes throw more at us than we feel able to handle. Psychotherapy offers you the time and space to draw a breath, reflect on where you are, who you are, and how you want to move forward.

For me, good therapy involves deep listening, compassion and courage. The process is engaging, surprising, challenging and life-changing. I work to create a space where you can feel safe to explore what has brought you to therapy. I will listen with openness and warmth and help you to discover and trust your own insight and wisdom. We can work together to identify and address the barriers that get in the way of you living the way you want, find more compassionate ways of relating to yourself and develop the tools you need to create your way forward. I’m down-to-earth, warm and easy to talk to.

Practice description

I am a relational integrative psychotherapist. This means that I work collaboratively with you and adapt my approach to find a way of working that best fits with you, your personality, your reasons for coming to therapy and your unique way of relating to the world. I work in a way that listens to all the aspects of who you are and help you to find a way to feel more integrated in your sense of self.

I have spent over 15 years working in a one-to-one listening role, helping people reflect on what matters most to them and supporting people through major life decisions. This experience motivated me to train as a psychotherapist. I work with people with depression, anxiety and low self-esteem and those experiencing bereavement. I have a particular interest in working with people living with chronic illnesses such as arthritis, CFS/ME and fibromyalgia. I know that living with these conditions can feel lonely and isolating, make it difficult to know who you are and change how your relationships with others. Psychotherapy can be a place where your experience is heard and believed, where you can grieve for what you’ve lost and where you can reflect on how you can live alongside your illness. I also have experience of working with people going through relationship difficulties and with those grappling with issues around religious and cultural identity.

I have completed an MA (with distinction) in Integrative Psychotherapy and an MSc (with distinction) in Psychology.
