About me and my therapy practice
I offer a person-centred and mindfulness-based approach, grounded in presence, emotional awareness, and nervous system sensitivity. I work gently and relationally, creating a space where you can slow down, listen inward, and begin to explore what’s been overwhelming, stuck, or hard to name.
I draw from over 30 years of mindfulness and meditation practice, alongside clinical training in counselling and psychotherapy. This combination allows us to work with both words and sensations—exploring the stories we carry, how we hold them in our bodies, and the ways we can meet ourselves with more care and compassion.
You might come feeling anxious, low, or lost. Perhaps there’s a sense of disconnection or shame, or patterns of behaviour that feel at odds with how you want to live or relate. I work with people from all walks of life, and often with LGBTQ+ clients, as well as those navigating neurodivergence, chronic fatigue, or long-term recovery.
We’ll go at your pace, attending to the parts of you that feel reactive, sensitive, or unseen. The process can be quiet and reflective, or more active and practical, depending on what’s needed. I may offer gentle practices like breath awareness, grounding, or mindful movement to support regulation and connection—but always with your consent and collaboration.
Practice description
I offer online, phone, and in-person sessions from Glasgow city centre. I work with adults experiencing a range of emotional and relational challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, identity questions, stress, burnout, and life transitions. I also support those living with chronic health conditions, neurodivergence (such as ADHD or dyslexia), and the ongoing work of recovery from addiction or compulsive behaviours.
Many of the people I work with arrive carrying emotional complexity—sometimes shaped by past trauma, sensitive nervous systems, or longstanding patterns that feel hard to shift. Some feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of who they are or how to move forward.
My practice is grounded in person-centred values, with a strong focus on presence, safety, and attunement. I bring in elements of mindfulness, body-based awareness, and creative emotional exploration. I believe that therapy is most helpful when it allows all parts of you to be welcomed—especially the ones that feel ashamed, stuck, or difficult to name.
My first session
Before beginning therapy, I offer a free 15-minute phone or video call. This is a chance for us to get a sense of one another, for you to ask any questions, and to talk about what’s bringing you to therapy.
If we decide to work together, the first session is a gentle introduction. There’s no pressure to go deep straight away—we’ll go at your pace. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as feels right. We’ll talk about what you’re hoping for, what has or hasn’t helped in the past, and explore how we might approach the work together.
I don’t take a clinical or diagnostic approach, but I do pay attention to how different systems—emotional, relational, and physical—interact. I may introduce options like grounding techniques or mindfulness exercises, especially if they feel useful for regulation or overwhelm.
You’re under no obligation to continue after the first session—it’s your time, and your decision. I’ll be honest about whether I feel I can support you, and we’ll check together whether it feels like a good fit.
