About me and my therapy practice

Hi - I'm Liz, a sincere and compassionate psychotherapeutic counsellor (MÍø±¬ÃÅ). I believe in a personalized approach to counselling, drawing from a variety of techniques to ensure each client's therapy is as unique as they are.

What can you expect from me?

My integrative approach draws influence from person-centred counselling, transactional analysis, cognitive behavioural therapy, Gestalt, and psychodynamic therapy. My top priority is to build a good and trusting therapeutic relationship with you by providing warmth, empathy, respect and compassion, working at your pace and to your agenda, as we work together to meet your goals.

I have experience in helping clients with a wide variety of issues, including (but not limited to) stress and anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, and lack of motivation, self esteem, or confidence. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared confidentially without fear of judgment.

How do I work?

I specialise in working online, making your experience as close as possible to working face-to-face. Working online can be extremely beneficial for those wanting to stay in the comfort of their own home, avoid additional travel, and can seamlessly fit it in around their other commitments.

Practice description

Each session will last 50 minutes via Zoom, and I would encourage meeting on a weekly basis.

Every 5-6 weeks we will review together your journey so far. There is no upper limit to the number of sessions, and this is something that we can discuss as the sessions progress. You will probably know when you are ready to finish counselling, and we will agree together on the work we need to do to prepare for this.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss making an appointment, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please be assured that all communication is treated with the strictest of confidence.

My first session

Talking to someone about your difficulties can feel daunting. That's why I provide an initial free-of-charge phone call (15-20 mins) for us to discuss what brought you to counselling and to answer any questions you have.

You'll learn about me and my approach, and I'll explain the therapy process and what would be the next steps if you feel comfortable working with me.

If you're happy to proceed, we'll book in your first counselling session together, send you the shared agreement, and then we can begin therapy.
