About me and my therapy practice

Hi I am Sue. I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor trained in both couple and individual practice.

If you’re reading this, chances are you’re facing challenges in your life that feel too heavy to carry on your own.

Perhaps something has recently changed, bringing new difficulties, or maybe life has always felt like a struggle and you're ready to explore the deeper issues that have been causing pain or unhappiness.

Recognising that things have become overwhelming takes courage. You're not alone—and together, we can explore what’s happening for you and work towards greater understanding and clarity.

I’m a fully qualified counsellor with 600+ counselling hours under my belt, and while I take a holistic approach, my work is grounded in well-established, evidence-based counselling theories and methods. These approaches have been researched, refined, and proven effective over time—and they continue to evolve to meet the needs of people just like you.

I offer counselling for individuals and couples, both in person and online. I hold specialist training in both areas, recognising that each requires a distinct approach and expertise. I also provide support around sexual issues, including kink, when relevant to your personal journey.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work to the highest professional and ethical standards. I’m a straightforward, down-to-earth counsellor with extensive life experience, and I believe strongly in transparency throughout the therapeutic process. You have a right to understand the work we’re doing together, so wherever possible, I’ll explain each stage of therapy—helping you feel informed, empowered, and in control of your own journey.

About me and my therapy practice

Relationship Counselling

Hi I am a fully qualified counsellor with over 700 hours of counselling expertise (as of June 2025). I work with individuals and couples. I am trained in Imago and Gottman theories for couples work. I combine that with other proven techniques. I am straight talking with a wealth of life experience.

Relationship challenges can stem from many sources—differences in opinions, beliefs, values, or expectations. Over time, communication may break down, or you might feel you've grown apart. In some cases, issues like infidelity can leave you both feeling hurt, confused, and unsure how to move forward or even talk about it.

I work with all kinds of couples and relationship styles. I also offer support with a wide range of sexual concerns, including differences in libido, loss of attraction, exploring kink, navigating polyamory, and any other issues that may be part of your unique journey.

Every person and relationship is different, and it's natural for needs and expectations to evolve. Together, we can explore what you both need now and how to reconnect—or gain clarity—based on where you are today.

Talking about your relationship in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space can help you make sense of what's happening. Whether you're seeking ways to repair and strengthen your bond or trying to cope with a difficult reality, this process can guide you toward healing, understanding, and a path forward.

Practice description

In our first session, we’ll take time to talk about how we’ll work together and begin to explore the challenges you're facing in your relationship. I understand that starting counselling can feel overwhelming, but my aim is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and at ease. Our sessions are always held in confidence, with empathy and without judgment.

I will listen carefully and seek to understand your experiences from your perspective, allowing you to express your thoughts and emotions freely.

While my approach is holistic and tailored to your unique situation, it’s grounded in well-established, evidence-based methods and therapeutic models that have been thoroughly researched and shown to be effective. I offer a clear approach to counselling. I believe there is science behind the practice and therefore can work with conviction with regard to results.

My first session

Our first session will be exploring your concerns and discussing a way to move forward. I work differently with each couple but all my methods are based on tested theories. I am a direct and insightful counsellor who combines challenge with compassion and empathy to help you work through your concerns.
