About me and my therapy practice

I am a CPCAB qualified Adult, and Child and Adolescent (CYP) counsellor, working with individuals from age 11 years.

Building a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my approach. As an integrative counsellor, I offer a holistic and relational style which draws from different theories and techniques to meet your individual needs. When working with children and young people (CYP), I use play, psychoeducation and creative methods to help make therapy accessible and enjoyable.

I am committed to inclusive practice and have extensive experience supporting individuals with neurodiversity, particularly children and young people aged 11-25. I believe my counselling experience, together with my diverse professional and personal background, enriches my understanding and informs my ethical and client-centred approach to therapy.

Practice description

My aim is to create a nurturing and understanding environment where I strive for clients to feel truly seen and heard. While strong emotions can be evoked from exploring issues, clients often feel a sense of relief, and can experience an increased sense of energy, renewed motivation and empowerment as they move forward.

I offer both short term and long term counselling:

Long-term counselling, or open-ended therapy, offers a more in-depth and expansive space to explore patterns, underlying issues, past experiences, and their impact on your present life. The focus is often on deeper personal growth, self-understanding, and lasting change.

Short-term counselling typically focuses on specific, clearly defined goals you want to achieve within a limited number of sessions. We'd work together on a particular issue or challenge, aiming for practical strategies and symptom relief.

My first session

We can begin with a free 20-minute introductory online meeting or telephone call.  This brief, informal meeting/call is a chance for us to connect and see if we're a good initial fit. You can share a little about what you're looking for, and I can briefly explain my approach. There's no obligation, and it's simply an opportunity to ask any immediate questions you might have before committing to the first paid for session, an 'initial assessment' which forms the foundational understanding for our work together and is where your counselling journey truly begins.
