About me and my therapy practice
I'm Kevina, a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, LGBTQIA+ friendly counsellor working with individuals aged 18 and over.
An integrative counsellor, my counselling work is mainly person-centred, psychodynamic, and through a trauma-informed lens.
Based in Eden Valley on the Cumbria/Yorkshire Dales border, I am insured to provide counselling services UK-wide, though may be of particular appeal if you live in Kirkby Stephen, Appleby-in-Westmorland, Penrith, Kendal, Carlisle, Lake District, Barnard Castle, Richmond, Sedbergh, Hawes.
It's my hope that you will experience me as gentle, warm, patient and focused. You will be listened to and accepted, whatever you choose to share with me.
In our sessions, we are likely to focus on what's happening in your life now, key events from your past, and your hopes and wishes for the future. All within a confidential space.
Be in no doubt that seeking support is a mark of strength. Counselling can help you to develop deeper self-awareness and understanding, to strengthen foundations for the future.
I offer a free introductory call, with no obligation for you to proceed to a paid session, if that's what you decide.
Pricing: £45 per 50-minute session. £35 reduced rate for low income, students, counselling trainees.
In addition to counselling, I bring professional knowledge and experience of the health and social care sectors, charity sector, financial services and prison system.
Practice description
The counselling sessions I offer last 50 minutes, but can be shorter or longer according to need. Sessions typically happen weekly or fortnightly, you choose.
My first session
Our first session is an Introductory Call on phone or Zoom, and is free of charge.
This call enables us to get to know each other a little. You will describe your reasons for coming to counselling and what you're seeking. I will explain my ways of working and the ethical requirements I adhere to. Together we will discuss how sessions might be organised to best suit you.
The introductory call is important, as it enables us both to gauge if I am the right counsellor for you at this time.
During this call, we may also begin the initial assessment and agree on a preferred time and day for your first full counselling session.
I look forward to meeting you.
