About me and my therapy practice
As a Counsellor and Addiction Psychotherapist, I support children, young people and young adults with addictive behaviours and other mental health issues (e.g. anxiety, depression, exam stress, loneliness). If this is for you or for your loved one, feel free to get in touch and we can set up our first appointment.
I am an Advanced Practitioner and Accredited Member of the professional body, Addiction Professionals. I hold a Masters of Science in Counselling and in the Psychology of Addiction and I am a qualified Youth Worker.
Practice description
Who I support:
As a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I help people navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loneliness, exam/work stress, addictive behaviours or just if something feels a little off. My approach is tailored to create a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore their concerns.
Specialisations:
I have extensive training and clinical experience working with adolescents and young people navigating these sensitive stages of life. This includes the often overwhelming challenges of starting a new school year, especially the first year of high school or the intense demands of GCSE and A Level years.
My experience extends to supporting neurodivergent young people (including ADHD), addressing their identity with understanding and patience. I provide a safe, inclusive space for LGBTQ+ individuals, empowering them to navigate challenges with confidence and authenticity.
I have highly specialised training in supporting people navigating addiction, whether it involves experimenting with substances or addressing more complex drug or alcohol use. I also assist with behavioural addictions, such as excessive gaming, gambling, and sex.
I work with those affected by others’ addictions, recognising the bravery of parents who reach out to protect their children’s wellbeing.
What to Expect:
I take a collaborative approach, actively involving parents and carers in the therapeutic process where appropriate. My practice is informed by a decade of experience working with schools, PRUs, and in a local therapy charity for adolescents. Warm, non-judgemental, and deeply empathetic, I adapt to your personality to create a positive and productive therapeutic experience.
My first session
Once you reach out via my email address, my phone number or using the Íø±¬ÃÅ contact box, I will respond within 24 hours. Please check your spam email folder if you have not heard from me within this time frame.
We can then agree on a time/place for our first appointment. I find weekly appointments are normally most appropriate and generally we keep to the same time/place each week. Parents/carers are welcome to join for the first session if this would be helpful.

Practice description
I have specialist training in supporting young people in the field of addiction. I can help with drug and alcohol use, whether you are experimenting or if you feel it is now a little more complex and maybe you are worrying about it. I also help young people affected by other people's addiction, so I recognise the bravery of parents reaching out when they think their use may be impacting their children.
You may be concerned about how much time you are spending gaming and maybe it affects your school or family life. You may have found yourself no longer feeling in control of certain behaviours, and this could be gambling, sex or other compulsions. If there are any habits you feel are getting worse, therapy can be a good space to help make sense of it. I always have a warm and non-judgemental approach.
It's worth noting that very few therapists have specialist training in addiction, and even fewer are qualified to work specifically with young people in this area. This is my specific niche and issue that I have such a strong passion to work with. I collaborate with families and actively involve parents and caregivers. I have experience working in schools, working with anger management, and I also support deaf clients.
My scope extends to neurodivergent young people, addressing their unique needs and fostering understanding. Furthermore, I am dedicated to addressing LGBTQ+ issues and providing a safe and inclusive counselling space for those within this community.
