About me and my therapy practice
We are all deserving of meaningful connection. To heal or overcome emotional distress, a comforting connection can make a difference and build resilience.
There may be times when life just seems too much - we need someone to listen, to really hear us and help to unpick what's happening.
I offer a non-judgemental and confidential environment where we can work together to navigate any of life's challenges.
How I can help:
As an integrative counsellor we have options available to us in how we approach your issue:
1) we can explore past experiences and make links to the distress you are experiencing now
2) we can allow space to process how you are feeling day to day without seeking to 'fix'
3) we can develop practical strategies to cope week to week in a way unique to you
Play Therapy - suitable for under 13's
I use a PACE (Play, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) approach
We take time to build a trusting therapeutic relationship
Feelings are organically shared and explored.
I use games, toys and objects, creativity to explore emotions and build connection.
With under 16's we typically work within term times only.
Practice description
Typically to start we will explore what brings you to counselling. Together we will work towards developing greater self-awareness allowing you to develop the tools to identify any unhelpful patterns and begin to make new ones.
As well as exploring your own strategies and methods, I will share therapeutic resources if you think they might be relevant or helpful. I will support you in regaining control and finding hope.
I work with a range of issues such as: anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, trauma, stress, sleep issues, damaging behavioural patterns - please feel free to get in touch if the nature of your issue isn't listed.
Within my Play Therapy I aim to develop a secure relationship where all feelings, experiences and thoughts can be shared. Play, acceptance, curiosity and empathy create an environment which allow and encourage children to develop the courage and self esteem to be seen and understood.
Safeguarding and confidentiality are at the heart of my work and will always be prioritised.
My first session
In our first session I will aim to get a sense of your world and what's going on for you, we can look to identify core issues and explore what you are feeling.
