About me and my therapy practice
How would you describe your relationship with yourself? Does your inner voice speak with kindness or harsh self-criticism?
I offer outdoor counselling in ancient woodland in South Sheffield: a serene, calming setting where we can walk and talk while gently untangling the thoughts, feelings, and inner questions that may be leaving you feeling stuck, weighed down, or unsure of yourself.
You might be navigating anxiety, low mood, or low self-esteem. Perhaps you've experienced a toxic or difficult relationship - romantic, platonic, or familial - and are left carrying shame or self-doubt that should never have been yours to carry. Maybe you're noticing limiting beliefs that you'd like to explore, or you're yearning to feel more connected to your identity and sense of authenticity.
Working outdoors, I like to weave the natural world and elements of mindfulness into our time together, often drawing on metaphor and symbolism, which is rich and abundant in the woodland, to support insight and healing. Sessions are grounded in empathic curiosity, inviting space for reflection and reconnection to your core self.
Past clients have described me as warm, calm, and compassionate, and have valued my sense of humour (because therapy doesn't always have to be serious!). My intention is to hold space with empathy and presence, to honour the weight of what you're carrying, while also allowing for lightness and balance when appropriate, with guidance and gentle challenge when I sense it might help you move forward.
Practice description
I named my practice Neoma, which means 'new moon' - a symbol of renewal and quiet transformation. I chose this name to reflect the subtle yet powerful shifts that counselling can bring, with the soft beginning of a new chapter, or phase.
While outdoor walk-and-talk therapy is at the heart of what I offer, I also provide indoor face-to-face sessions at Sheffield Wellness Centre on Abbeydale Road, as well as online via Zoom, so you can access therapy in whichever way feels most comfortable or practical for you. If you have any questions or would like to know more about how outdoor therapy works, please feel free to explore my website or send me a message.
I work with clients of all ages from 12+. Sessions lasts 50 minutes and cost £50. Therapy can be short-term or ongoing, with weekly or fortnightly appointments depending on what suits you best.
My approach is person-centred, which means I follow your lead, supporting you to explore the themes that matter most to you. If you choose to work with me, I will meet you with care, respect, and gentle curiosity, honouring the trust you place in me. If this style of therapy resonates, you’re warmly invited to get in touch.
My first session
Our initial session is an opportunity for us both to get a sense of how our work together might look, and for you to get a feel for whether I am the right therapist for you.
Counselling is most effective when you experience a positive connection with your therapist. For this reason, I offer the first session at a reduced rate of £25, to allow you to experience a no-pressure taster without a huge financial commitment.
In this initial 50 minutes together, we’ll talk about what’s brought you to counselling and the kind of support you’re looking for, exploring a few areas in more depth to help me get a clearer sense of your world and how I can best support you. You’re also very welcome to ask any questions about me and how I work.
Following our initial session, there is absolutely no obligation for you to commit to further sessions unless you feel confident that is something you'd like to do. I'm more than happy for you to go away and think about it, and only ask that you get back to me within a week so that I can offer that space to somebody else if you don't wish to take it.
However you choose to proceed, I hope our time together offers you a moment of calm and the beginning of something healing and hopeful.
