About me and my therapy practice
Is counselling right for me?
Our mental health should be treated no differently to our physical health 鈥 if something doesn鈥檛 feel right, please don鈥檛 suffer through it alone.
With over 30 years鈥 experience working for a number of national mental health charities, I have seen the power of counselling from all sides.
Some of the issues that I often help people to work through are listed below, however this is not an exhaustive list and I would encourage anyone who feels any form of distress to seek professional help.
Top Issues I often see clients with are as follows:
鈼 Suicidal idealisation
鈼 Abuse from childhood
鈼 Domestic violence
鈼 Men's issues
鈼 Depression & anxiety
鈼 Walking talking therapy
鈼 Autism - ASD
Training and certificates
I specialise in helping adults who have issues with self-harm and suicidal thoughts as well as those who have suffered trauma and abuse at any stage in their lives. I also welcome all those who identify as neurodivergent as I have considerable experience with those on the autistic spectrum.
Having worked for a number of national mental health charities, I have seen the power of counselling from all sides. It can feel daunting to make contact with a therapist at first 鈥 this is a very common way to feel however finding the strength to do so is the first step towards changing your life.

Practice description
What to expect?
Every counsellor is different and has their own approach to how they work. During the initial consultation, I will explain the various methods that I use, and we can discuss what you are hoping to achieve from therapy. Some people benefit from structured, regular sessions; however others may prefer a more informal style so the consultation is a great way to understand each other more 鈥 the world would be boring if we were all the same.
I have a safe, comfortable space available for one-on-one sessions in Stratford-upon-Avon and the option for appointments in the surrounding villages and towns too. Should you have any difficulties with coming to me, such as agoraphobia or mobility issues to name just a few, please contact me to see what other options may be available, such as home visits, video appointments and telephone calls. I also offer walk and talk therapy in a beautiful countryside setting if this suits you better.

About me and my therapy practice
I have had the privilege of working with people in distress for over 30 years, both as a Samaritan and a Samaritan Supervisor. My counselling journey began at Kaleidoscope a mental health charity, where I continue to volunteer as a counsellor when I can, giving back to the community that shaped my early practice.
Today, I run my own counselling practice, specialising in supporting people experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harm, and those who are neuro-divergent using an integrative approach.
I am also a qualified couple counsellor, passionate about helping relationships move through difficulties with respect and care.
As a supervisor, I aim to offer a space that is safe, warm, and collaborative. I believe supervision is not only about guidance but also about encouragement, reflection, and shared growth. Whether you鈥檙e just beginning your counselling journey or are more experienced, I work to create a supportive partnership where you feel heard, valued, and confident in your practice.
Practice description
I work using the integrative method of counselling, drawing on a range of approaches to best support your professional growth and development. My aim is to provide a warm, friendly, and supportive space where you can bring all aspects of your supervision needs. Whether you are newly qualified, in training, or an experienced practitioner, supervision is a valuable opportunity to reflect on your work, explore challenges, celebrate strengths, and maintain safe and ethical practice.
I offer a collaborative process where you are encouraged to share openly, knowing that your experiences will be met with respect, curiosity, and care. Together, we can look at casework, professional development, self-care, and any other areas you feel are important to your practice.
Supervision with me is not a one-size-fits-all process 鈥 I adapt to what you need, supporting you to work in ways that are ethical, effective, and authentic to your own style as a practitioner. My goal is to provide a safe and encouraging environment where you feel heard, supported, and empowered.
My first session
In our first session, we will complete an assessment together. This means the initial session may take a little longer than usual, as it gives us the opportunity to explore your needs in more depth and agree on how best we can work together.
I also offer a free 15-minute phone call or Zoom call before we begin. This is a chance for us to talk through what you are looking for in supervision, and to see whether we feel like a good fit. My hope is to make supervision a positive, supportive, and empowering experience for you.
