About me and my therapy practice
Are you hiding behind a brave face? Do you seem calm and in control to others, yet inside feel anxiety, low self-esteem, or the weight of past experiences? I became a therapist after a long career in the arts, which gave me a deep understanding of the inner worlds we keep hidden and the ways we try to hold ourselves together. Many people spend years quietly carrying their struggles, supporting everyone else but never truly feeling heard, understood or at ease.
If this feels familiar, you don’t have to face it alone. You might find yourself feeling tense or on high alert, even when nothing obvious is wrong. Or perhaps you lose track of minutes or hours, caught in a world of thought or memory.
In a calm, confidential setting, I offer warmth, compassion and thoughtful support to help you make sense of what feels overwhelming or confusing. Together, we can explore the anxiety, trauma, depression or relationship problems that have been hard to voice, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic and person-centred principles, always shaped around your unique needs. Sometimes we might gently connect what’s happening now with earlier experiences; at other times, we’ll look for ways to manage anxiety, trauma or emotional overwhelm in the present. Whatever we explore, my aim is to help you find understanding, steadiness and a greater sense of control in your life.
However long you’ve been holding things together, you don’t have to keep doing it alone. I’ll be alongside you with care, steadiness and genuine understanding, helping you move toward clarity, confidence and lasting change.
