About me and my therapy practice

Hello, you’re probably here because you or a loved one are facing a difficult time in life. Starting the counselling journey can be a daunting experience.

I aim to ease this experience by meeting you with warmth, empathy, and understanding.

Whether dealing with anxiety, stress, loss of identity, cultural challenges, depression, a general sense of loneliness, finding your voice, or any other uncomfortable feelings, please remember that help is available.

I offer a free 15-minute online consultation to discuss your counselling needs and ascertain if I'm the right fit for you.

I use a client-centred approach. Which means that I do not lead the sessions, my clients explore what holds the most importance to them for that session. As our work unfolds, we begin to understand the threads connecting the various issues.

Generally, my focus tends to be on how our past has informed our present behaviours and thought patterns. In my experience, when working through this lens, clients tend to gain more awareness of themselves.

Gaining awareness gives you choice to shift current behaviours and thought patterns in ways that feel right for you. Thus, allowing you to live a fuller and more meaningful life.

I have trained in the field of Psychosynthesis which recognises we all have different parts within ourselves - the people-pleaser, the inner-critic, the fun one, the scared one, etc. Rather than fighting these parts, Psychosynthesis helps you understand and integrate them so you can connect with your whole self, and thus, your power.

I believe that clients are more than the issues they bring to sessions. I view clients as beings looking to reconnect with themselves, and the issues they bring have messages that are yearning to be heard.

Our journey together will be about hearing those messages in a gentle, holding manner. As you begin to understand, and connect with those messages, my hope is that you can develop a better understanding of yourself and begin to live a more wholesome life.

Practice description

I appreciate that not everyone can access in-person counselling thus I offer both - online; and in-person counselling at London Bridge. I only offer weekly 50-minute sessions to allow for continuity and flow in our work.

I may use different ways to help you connect with yourself such as meditation, visualisations, drawing, writing, amongst others. These are used subjectively and mindfully, and always with the clients’ consent.

Once I receive your enquiry, I will strive to reply within three working days. After establishing contact, we will arrange a free 15-minute consultation at a mutually convenient time. As said above, this is an opportunity for us to discuss your counselling needs further; and to determine if I am the right fit to meet those needs.

When we mutually agree to work together, we will then arrange a weekly 50-minute counselling session at a time convenient to our schedules.

I will follow this up with an email containing a client agreement form which provides detailed information regarding sessions, confidentiality, holidays, and general housekeeping.

I believe in open communication, so please feel free to discuss any questions or concerns with me as they arise. We can meet for our first session once I've received a signed copy of the documents from you.

My first session

The first session will have a different format than the following sessions. We will go over the client agreement in further detail and can clarify any questions you may have regarding it or my practice.

Once we have covered that ground, I then move into gathering information of your past experiences. I will ask you questions regarding your parents, upbringing, friends, education, relationships, current life, amongst other aspects of your life.

This can take up to more than one session because there can be a lot of ground to cover. Generally, I find this information lays a solid foundation for us to build on our future work together.

This is also a space for you to bring any questions you may have about me and my practice.
