About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Sadie and I’m looking forward to meeting you.
I work as a Counsellor, Coach, remedial Massage Therapist and Pilates instructor under my business name Aceso Healing Therapies, and believe in taking a holistic approach to mental health. I encourage my clients to consider a full assessment of their overall wellbeing in order to understand where the repair needs to begin in order to start the healing process.
Throughout my years of studies and client work I’ve seen evidence time and time again that how we deal with stress and trauma can show up in many ways. The body holds aches and pains, presents with issues around appetite, and can cause problems sleeping, on top of the more typical impacts on our behaviour patterns and emotional triggers.
I specialise in working with trauma and abuse but there’s no reason too big or small to seek out therapy. I’ve worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, attachment issues and relationship problems. Sometimes you may find yourself struggling with a symptom before you’re able to name the cause, and that’s the point at which therapy enables safe exploration and support during the healing journey.
My therapeutic approach is client-led depending on your needs, and I draw from various types of therapy modalities such as psychodynamic, person-centred, Gestalt and existential psychotherapy to find a model that works for you. Our work together will be informed by your goals and what you want to get out of them.
Practice description
My intention is to provide a comfortable and safe space to talk openly and honestly and the development of our relationship will be the starting point to the therapy work.
I offer both Counselling and Coaching although I tend to advise that we begin with Counselling. In order for us to look forward, I believe it’s helpful to understand and make sense of what has come before. Counselling sessions are 50 minutes whether online or in person, and can be short or long-term depending on your needs. The average time working with a client therapeutically can typically be between 6 months and 2 years.
Coaching has a very different energy to Counselling and will feel more structured and collaborative. I work using a 6-session framework, giving more time to session one (90 minutes) and then following with weekly hour-long sessions. There will also be homework given in between the times we speak.
Coaching is £100 for the first session and £75 for the remaining 5 sessions. These will be prepped and planned on my side and will feel like a workshop when we’re together online.
My first session
Ahead of booking any sessions, I suggest a 15 minute free and confidential exploratory call. This allows you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about my approach. It's also important to see if you feel comfortable talking with me as I believe a solid relationship is the foundation for any effective therapeutic work.
What I can help with
Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Body/somatic therapy, Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, Depression, Development coaching, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Life coaching, Mood disorder, OCD, Phobias, Post-traumatic stress, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Trauma, Women's issues, Work related issues
