I currently have timeslots available on a Tuesday and Wednesday. I am looking for clients who would consent to me using material from our work together in a case study and supervision for a course I'm currently taking, so would have some more availability and flexibility for this short-term.
About me and my therapy practice
Welcome - My name is Charlotte, I can offer you a warm and supportive space to tackle those issues that you feel unable to explore anywhere else.
We can look at unhelpful patterns of thoughts, behaviours, feelings and beliefs…. your formative experiences have shaped your worldview, but they may not be serving you any more; I can help you to recognise those unconscious processes and to replace negative coping strategies with positive ones.
We can nurture your innate resourcefulness and resilience - work towards becoming the person you want to be and finding your own solutions. We can also use the sessions to pause and take time out of your week to just Be, explore who you are and foster a stronger sense of Self.
I have an interest in Neurodivergence and Anxiety disorders, and find that these two things often go hand-in-hand.
I am also ever-conscious of the different ways trauma can manifest and offer a safe place to explore that. I can help you to work on reducing anxiety and overwhelming emotions, or by helping you to express your emotions and find healing.
Counselling is Your time to explore You. Sessions are client-led and I draw on different tools and approaches to suit that.
Please get in touch and we can discuss booking in an initial session. *Please keep an eye on your email's spam folder for a reply*.
Practice description
I am doing a level 6 qualification in Counselling (the final year of a degree), and as part of it I am required to produce a case study that demonstrates and critically analyses my ability to integrate theory, research, and practice within a Pluralistic counselling framework. I will ask clients if they consent to this and if so, may use material from our sessions in the case study and to develop my counselling practice.
Pluralistic counselling is a way of integrating different approaches, theories and interventions, in collaboration with the client.
My main approach in sessions is the Person-centred approach - I will integrate other approaches where I feel it will be beneficial, these approaches currently include CBT (Cognitive behavioural Therapy), the Psychodynamic approach, Transaction Analysis, the Gestalt Approach. Throughout this academic year I will be integrating 3 new approaches into my practice, in this order: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy and Internal Family Systems. Please feel free to look up these approaches if you would like, and I will be explaining them as we go.
The work is client-led, I don't offer advice or ‘treatment’ - I offer a space for you to explore your feelings, goals, behaviours etc in a safe, reflective space.
The work is open-ended, and we can review it periodically. It is your decision when to end sessions, although I do always recommend a ‘closing session’ to facilitate a feeling of closure to this chapter.
My first session
The initial session is £55, we can go through your goals and expectations for counselling, and what you would like to work on. It's a chance for us to get a feel for each other and also I would be able to make a suggestion if I feel more specialist support would be suitable.

Abuse, ADD / ADHD, Anger management, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Cancer, Cultural issues, Depression, Disability, Health related issues, Identity issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, Loss, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Obsessions, Personal development, Phobias, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Vegan allied, Women's issues, Work related issues
