About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my profile,
I work as an integrative psychotherapist at Horton House in the centre of Liverpool and worldwide online. Previously, I worked for five years as a psychotherapist in the NHS and for ten years as the leading therapist in a private counselling and psychotherapist service in the Midlands which I had founded and developed. I provide a warm, non-judgemental, safe and professional space. As I am not part of a service like the NHS, I can guarantee complete confidentiality.
My basic training as a psychotherapist was a MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy which focused on the integration of cognitive-behavioural, attachment-focused and person-centred approaches to best meet clients' individual needs. Following I underwent extensive further training in:
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Inner Relationship Focusing (IRF)
Compassion-focused Therapy (CFT)
Eye movement desensitization and retrocession (EMDR)
Brainspotting
Trauma and Tension Release Exercises (TRE)
Mindfulness and body-centred meditation
I have personal experience of the impact of childhood trauma on ones psyche and emotional well-being, and of how psychotherapy can help to heal these wounds. I believe that having lived experience as well as professional expertise helps me to relate to clients on a deep level and with a sensitivity that I would have otherwise not had.
Qualifications:
BSc (Hons) Psychology (1999)
MA Psychoanalytic Studies (2002)
MSc Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (2011)
PG Cert in Compassion-Focused Therapy (2014)
Internal Family Systems (IFS), Level 1 and 2 (2021, 2022)
Inner Relationship Focusing (IRP), Spring 2025
Brainspotting Level 1, 2 and 3 (2017, 2018)
Trauma and Tension Release Exercises (TRE) Provider since 2017
Realization Process (embodied mindfulness) Teacher since 2022
EMDR Level 1 and 2 (2013, 2014)
