About me and my therapy practice
I am a warm, intuitive and collaborative therapist, increasingly working with millennial and Gen Z clients helping them find a route through change or loss.
As a therapist, I specialise in:
Life transitions and unexpected challenges: the upheaval and reassessment as the result of a change such as new parenthood, career change, redundancy, the challenge of aging parents, a major health diagnosis, or bereavement
Loss of meaning or purpose: a sense that the life you were building no longer feels like it fits.
The challenge of those working in the arts, creative industries and other talent-led fields: the pressure of working within a creative organisation or as a freelance artist or writer.
In addition, I can support you with: stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, shame, trauma and relationship issues.
My approach is humanistic. Put simply, this means I work in a personalised, open and collaborative way with each client, engaging deeply with their internal worlds. I pay close attention to what you want and help you understand, and perhaps change your relationship with, some of the invisible obstacles that stand in your way.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and are usually weekly though we can discuss your needs and I will do what I can to accommodate them.
Practice description
A good working relationship is at the heart of successful therapy. It is therefore important for you to find the right match, someone you feel comfortable to talk to and be with. I offer a free phone consultation to start the process. You can find out what working with me might be like, check we are a good fit and get answers to questions you might have. There is no obligation to continue.
If we decide to work together, in our first session I will try to fully understand where you're at and where you want to be. My priority is to create a good rapport, a warm and open relationship in which you can talk about anything on your mind whilst feeling fully accepted as you are.
As we progress I will work in an attentive, intuitive, calm and transparent way, always led by you and your agenda as we explore the issues you are facing.
I see our working relationship as a robust, collaborative dialogue - a quest we're on together, through the challenges you're facing towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
In terms of time, we can work in either a time-limited (usually 6-24 sessions) or open ended way, both of which have benefits depending on your situation. We can discuss what feels right for you when we speak. Either way we will review regularly to ensure you are getting what you need from our work together.
I work from a private and comfortable therapy room close to transport links:
Archway Therapy, London, N19 is a short walk from Upper Holloway & Gospel Oak Overground or Tufnell Park & Archway tube. It is a short bus journey from Muswell Hill, Crouch End, Kentish Town and Camden.
My first session
Our first session will be an opportunity to assess if I am the right therapist for you. If I think I can help, we will discuss creating a plan for our work. You then go away and decide if you want to continue. If I can think of someone better suited to your needs, or if you don't think that we could work well together, I'll do all I can to match you up with another, better-suited therapist for you.
What I can help with
Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Child related issues, Depression, Identity issues, Loss, Men's issues, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Spirituality, Stress, Trauma, Work related issues
