About me and my therapy practice

Therapy with me is a space to slow down and listen to yourself, your body and the patterns that shape how you relate to others. I see therapy as a collaborative process where we explore what feels familiar, what feels difficult and what might be ready to shift.

I offer a warm, relational and trauma-informed approach. My practice is affirmative, sex-positive and neurodivergent-friendly, grounded in curiosity, compassion and social awareness. I believe in meeting people where they are, without judgement or assumption, and creating space that honours all aspects of who they are.

I have experience working with university students, people exploring sexuality and identity, those navigating gender transition or expression and clients living with autism or sensory sensitivity. I also support people facing relationship and intimacy challenges, grief, anxiety, OCD, social anxiety, selective mutism and low self-esteem.

Many of the people I work with support or advocate for others, including those in helping roles, activism or professions working directly with vulnerable groups. Therapy can offer a reflective space to pause, recognise signs of burnout or compassion fatigue and reconnect with the values that first inspired their work.

I have a particular interest in autism, especially in women, where experiences are often overlooked or misunderstood. My work is informed by an awareness of masking, sensory sensitivity and the exhaustion that can come from navigating a world not always designed for difference. I also have a long-standing interest in selective mutism and the quieter experiences of social anxiety, and how silence can sometimes serve as protection.

Practice description

In our sessions, we might explore how you communicate and connect with others, whether that is at work, in friendships or in intimate relationships. Together we can look at patterns in communication, explore what feels comfortable or challenging and develop ways of expressing your needs with more confidence.

Sometimes we use gentle reflective or grounding techniques to help you connect with your body’s cues, understand what feels safe and build trust in your own instincts. My approach draws from relational, attachment and polyvagal-informed perspectives, with a focus on connection, consent and attunement.

I am mindful of how social and systemic factors, including racism, discrimination, inequality, cultural pressures and sensory overwhelm, shape how we feel and how safe we feel to express ourselves. Alongside this, I have a particular interest in the subtle influences of our environment on emotional wellbeing, such as light exposure, sleep rhythms and sensory load, and how these shape mood, energy and connection.

Clients often describe therapy as helping them develop a quieter and more affirming inner voice, one that softens self-criticism and supports them to live with more confidence, ease and authenticity.

My first session

The first session is a gentle opportunity for us to get a sense of each other and to explore what brings you to therapy. We will look at what feels important for you right now, any goals or hopes you may have and what you would like to gain from the sessions.

I will explain how I work, answer any questions you might have and check in with what you need to feel comfortable and supported. You are welcome to go at your own pace. The first session is not about going into anything too deeply unless you want to; it is about building safety, clarity and a sense of whether I am the right therapist for you.

If it feels like a good fit, we can then agree on how you would like to continue, whether that is short-term work, longer-term exploration or something more flexible.

About me and my therapy practice

I offer a warm and friendly space for reflection.

My practice aims to help you gain insight into yourself and what’s going on for you. I’ll encourage you to pay close attention to your thoughts and feelings and make connections between different parts of your life. I believe that therapy can help you know yourself more fully and that you can make changes to your life based on this understanding.

I’m committed to building trusting and authentic relationship with you and believe therapy should be compassionate, down-to-earth and approachable. I work with you as an individual, with your own stories and your own needs. There is no predetermined programme for recovery but instead a curious, collaborative space where we work together to understand the issues you are facing.

With experience, I also bring a systemic and social justice lens to my work, and I’m happy to help you think about and consider these wider influences on your life.

I work with a wide range of clients from different backgrounds, races, religions and sexualities and have experience working with anxiety, burnout, vicarious trauma, depression, racism, relationships, abuse, low self-esteem, social anxiety, identity, PTSD, activism burnout, life transitions, loss, and bereavement.

Practice description

My approach is integrative. Meaning it’s flexible, intuitive, gentle, and sensitive, yet grounded in strong theoretical understanding, training, and my commitment to lifelong learning. I use various therapeutic methods and techniques to deeply understand your internal world and life experiences, allowing me to tailor the therapy to meet your specific needs.

My practice is LGBTQI+ affirmative, neurodivergent friendly and trauma informed. I hold intersectional, anti oppressive and feminist values. This means that I recognise that wider societal issues may impact the work we do, as well as your personal experiences.
