About me and my therapy practice

Hello and a warm welcome to my profile.

If you’re here, it means you’re thinking about committing to therapy. This is the first step towards taking care of yourself. Whether you'd like support with a recent issue or have long-standing concerns that require attention, we can work together to make sense of what’s troubling you. Through joint exploration you will begin to process emotions, make meaning of your experiences, discover the changes you’d like to make and navigate these with renewed strength and resilience. By engaging in therapy, you can feel more connected to yourself and, in turn, those around you, which leads to a more authentic, meaningful and fulfilling life.

With my first degree in the field of health and sports, for almost two decades I've supported individuals to make positive lifestyle changes both directly or via programme coordination and development, within the NHS, private sector and Local Authority. My clinical experience includes providing in-person counselling and psychotherapy for survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse, including pre-trial therapy, as well as supporting individuals affected by bereavement and loss. Alongside trauma and grief I work with a wide range of life issues, such as relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, shame, loneliness, isolation and a sense of being stuck.

Relevant Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Couples/Relationship Therapy - The Grove
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy - Leeds Beckett University
  • Certificate in Counselling Studies - Doncaster College

Practice description

I work relationally drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches, shaped by what feels right for you. There's no pressure to be anything other than yourself. We'll go at your pace, exploring your experiences, emotions and relationships in a way that feels safe,  manageable and meaningful.

Clients often tell me they appreciate my down to earth, thoughtful presence and the steady support I offer as we navigate challenges together. I listen carefully, without judgement, helping you to connect more deeply with your experiences, understand how they are affecting you and what matters the most to you in moving forward.

My first session

To gain the most from therapy it’s important that you choose a therapist you have confidence in and feel at ease with. If you’d like to take that first step, I invite you to contact me so that we can arrange a free 15-minute telephone or video call to look at our potential for working together. This will provide us both the opportunity to ask questions and consider moving towards step two - booking an assessment session and defining our work together.
