I do prefer face to face therapy.

About me and my therapy practice

Hi I'm Sue. Counselling is Time just for you... to pause and ponder. Are you feeling fed up, stuck, overwhelmed then lets talk, open a gate and find a new pathway. First session £30 and then £50.

Saying things out loud can help untangle thoughts, validate feelings and give back choices. Your own circumstances and feelings are unique to you and important.

I have a level 6, BA (Hons) Degree in Counselling.

I am currently with a local hospice, and offer bereavement counselling for individual family members and help run bereavement groups.

Have worked in corporate business, Probation, Age UK and Pregnancy Crisis centres, supporting unexpected pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion and infertility/ IVF.

I specialise in loss, grief, bereavement counselling, which actually connects through many changes in life and circumstances, such as - university, work, bullying, redundancy, financial issues, relationship break ups, fall outs, abuse, illness, accidents, unwanted pregnancy, baby loss, leaving home / empty nest, widowed, moving to another country, going into care or being a carer...

Life difficulties can create anxiety, panic attacks, low mood, depression, feeling constantly overwhelmed, tired and weary. Disappointed with life, fed up and lost, feeling lonely in a crowd and 'why me'?

Also low self-esteem and lack of confidence, can make us feel stuck, trapped and unsure about the future, possibly suicidal thoughts... and I am sure you are thinking of many more and experiencing some of these challenges.

I also offer Pet Bereavement support, during illness and loss /  Blue Cross trained.

It’s hard when told a pet is very sick and there are difficult decisions to be made, financially too. Experiencing loss and grief can begin as this point;and caring for a beloved pet through the ups and downs of their illness and death, can be emotionally upsetting, exhausting and devastating.

If you want to talk I am here to listen, and offer a reduced rate, so please ask.

Practice description

I hire a room locally and offer the first session at a reduced rate of £30. Subsequent sessions at £50.

Ideally sessions to be once a week on the same day and time. If you can't make a particular session and, or want a different day or time or every other week, I am happy to be flexible and discuss this.

The amount of sessions are down to you, but I usually suggest about six, but it can be less or more, and reviewed regularly.

It is about your time and what you want to discuss, explore, understand, influence or change.

Time to pause, take a deep breath, be still and hear yourself think; and maybe open a gate that might be blocking your direction.

I can be a sounding board for a particular problem that might just take one or two sessions.

I believe in the power of self-awareness, discovery, informed choices and acceptance, rather than feeling stuck or trapped. We all need some form of dream and hope in life.

Working together, being alongside you, offering care and support can help bring about changes.

The Person-Centred approach, believes that you have your own answers within, and an inner drive to move forward. But but often life seems too busy, not quiet enough to hear ourselves think. We fear life and feel unable to make decisions. Being in a safe space, working together can help discover new pathways.

My first session

The first session is offered at £30 and further sessions at £50.

Concessions can be discussed, or a monetary reduction if a certain amount of sessions are booked and paid for upfront.

I offer a reduced rate for pet and animal assistance bereavement.

Always good to ask and we can discuss options.

This will be a chance to meet for about 50 minutes and give you time to share what brings you to therapy, see how I work and whether we feel comfortable and could work together.

At some point in this first session, if you want to go ahead with further sessions. We will discuss paperwork, the counselling contract to sign and personal information and contact details.

Future session payments are due, either as cash at the end of the session or bank transfer within 24 hours after the session. An invoice can be provided if required.
