About me and my therapy practice

My extensive academic qualifications—including a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, MSc degrees in Clinical Psychiatry and Forensic Mental Health, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Sexology—combined with specialised training, have equipped me to work effectively across a wide spectrum of psychological issues. I offer therapy and conduct psychological assessments for a broad spectrum of mental health concerns, including trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, self-harm, stress, burnout and chronic pain, as well as relationship challenges and human sexuality.

I follow a pluralistic therapy model that integrates CBT, EMDR, ACT, psychodynamic and humanistic approaches.

Practice description

Clients can expect a goal-focused, evidence-based, and collaborative approach tailored to their individual needs. Grounded in extensive academic and clinical training, I draw on a range of therapeutic modalities to support clients in working toward meaningful and sustainable change. My practice emphasizes clarity, structure, and compassion, providing a safe and professional space where clients can explore challenges, build resilience, and achieve their therapeutic goals with a sense of direction and purpose.

My first session

In the first session, I take time to listen carefully to each client’s concerns, personal history, and goals. I carry out an initial psychological assessment to develop a clear understanding of the presenting issues and their context. Based on this, I provide a clinical formulation and discuss how I propose we work together, including the therapeutic approach and initial goals. Clients are encouraged to ask questions, and I seek their agreement before proceeding, ensuring the process is collaborative and transparent.

The session also includes a discussion of practical aspects such as confidentiality, data protection, session frequency, and duration. My aim is to create a safe, respectful, and structured space where clients feel informed, supported, and ready to begin therapeutic work.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a Registered Supervisor of Applied Psychology Practice with the British Psychological Society. I offer clinical supervision to practitioners and trainees, drawing on a robust foundation of academic education, specialist training, and experience as both a psychologist and psychotherapist. My approach to supervision is reflective, supportive, aiming to foster professional growth, clinical competence, and ethical integrity.

Practice description

Supervisees can expect a collaborative, reflective, and structured supervisory space that supports both their clinical development and professional identity. My approach balances support with thoughtful challenge, encouraging critical thinking, ethical awareness, and evidence-informed practice. Sessions are tailored to the supervisee’s stage of training or professional experience and integrate discussion of clinical work, theoretical frameworks, and personal development where appropriate. I aim to foster a safe and respectful environment where supervisees can explore clinical dilemmas, build confidence, and enhance their therapeutic effectiveness.

My first session

In the first supervision session, I will take the time to understand the practitioner’s current caseload, areas of expertise, and any specific challenges or goals they wish to address in supervision. We will discuss their professional experiences, how they integrate theory into practice, and identify any areas where they seek further development or support. I will also provide an overview of my supervisory approach, including expectations around confidentiality, case discussion, and feedback.

A key aspect of our work together will be a reflective and constructive feedback process. I provide both supportive and developmental feedback, focusing on areas of strength as well as opportunities for growth. Regular assessment of progress will be built into our sessions to ensure the practitioner feels empowered, competent, and equipped to navigate complex clinical situations. Together, we will establish a supervision agreement that creates a structured, supportive, and reflective environment for ongoing professional growth and clinical effectiveness.
