About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling anxious, stressed, lost, stuck or overwhelmed? Please know you are not alone. We all experience times in our life when we may need some support, guidance or just someone to talk to and offer a safe space.
I am a fully insured qualified counsellor and a registered member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ who has worked in the mental health sector for over 8 years and completed over 1300 counselling hours.
My background includes working in residential care homes supporting adults with long-term mental health difficulties and learning disabilities, working within the NHS as a health care assistant, working as a home care support worker for older adults, and working for many years therapeutically for 3 different children and young persons services, including supporting children & families in the care system. I now work privately with adults 18+ therapeutically, face to face and online.
Practice description
My work with you as a counsellor
I work as an integrative therapist with my core modality being person centred, which means different counselling tools and techniques can be drawn upon and utilised in our sessions should this suit your individual needs. Sometimes in life we feel judged, and feel unheard by those around us, and so I believe offering a safe space, providing honesty, transparency and empathy can be a powerful tool in itself.
I work with individuals 18+.
I also offer couples/relationship counselling.
My experience of working in mental health
- Anxiety
- Anger
- Trauma (including complex trauma)
- Depression
- Social Anxiety
- Low Self-Esteem
- Body Image Difficulties
- Panic
- Loss/Bereavement
- Eating Difficulties
- Relationship/Family Difficulties
- Long-Term Illness
- Stress
- I also have experience working with Autism and ADHD including being diagnosed later in life and the impacts of this.
If you're exploring being diagnosed with Autism and/or ADHD later in life, it can be a life-changing experience bringing up some anxieties, and it's understandable that you may want to reflect on its impact and what the next steps might be. This revelation can bring a sense of clarity but also raise new questions about how to move forward.
I offer open ended therapy meaning I can offer short-term and long-term counselling. I offer face to face and online therapy and can offer weekly, or bi-weekly.
Huyton/Knowsley/Liverpool area & online.
Please feel free to contact me to ask any questions.
