About me and my therapy practice
I work with stress, anxiety, panic, overwhelm, sudden life crises and shock, trauma, constant worry, overthinking, insomnia, agoraphobia, social anxiety, General Anxiety (GAD), low self-esteem, low confidence, people pleasing, relationship issues, boundary issues, difficult childhood experiences, serious and chronic illness, menopause.
Anxiety, panic, and other mental health concerns can leave us feeling scared and out of control. I understand that for many people, the thought of starting therapy can provoke fear—perhaps due to the belief that it must be painful, or that they’ll be expected to relive upsetting or traumatic experiences.
Therapy doesn’t have to be like that. Not all therapy involves revisiting the past, and you’ll never be asked to talk about anything you don’t want to.
I always work at your pace and comfort level, checking in regularly to ensure you feel safe and supported. I can also teach skills to help you feel calmer, more grounded, confident, and in control.
Some clients wish to explore how past events have contributed to their current difficulties, while others prefer to focus solely on what’s happening now. Both ways of working can be powerful and effective. Meaningful change can occur through exploring present experiences and looking toward the future.
Therapy can be supportive, interesting, enlightening, inspiring—and even enjoyable.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, sensitive, and flexible, using person-centred counselling, solution-focused work, CBT, Somatic CBT, mindfulness, somatic, and breathwork approaches. These can be used individually or in combination, depending on your needs. My style is collaborative and empowering. Together, we can identify causes, triggers, and maintaining factors, and create coping and prevention strategies based on your unique experiences, strengths, and preferences.
I also offer single one-off sessions, extended 1.5–2 hour sessions, and crisis sessions for sudden life crisis, anxiety spikes, or overwhelm.
Practice description
My therapeutic space is trauma-informed—a soft, human, and mindful alternative to the harsh, sterile environments and systems we often encounter, especially during times of personal difficulty.
I’m comfortable working alongside conventional mental health diagnoses, and equally comfortable working purely with you and your individual experience.
It’s important that you feel safe and in charge of your therapeutic journey. I always work collaboratively, staying sensitive, responsive, and flexible to your changing needs and focus.
I offer an authentic, empathetic, trauma-sensitive space that recognises your humanity and individuality—valuing you without judgement.
My first session
I ask all clients to complete a consultation form, either before or during our first session together. This includes information about your general health, home life, and work situation.
It’s important that in our work together we acknowledge the wider context of your life, including the impact of social, economic, cognitive, physical, emotional, and spiritual factors.
During your first session, you’ll have space to share your experiences and the issues that have brought you to counselling, as well as your hopes and any fears about what the process might involve. You’re always welcome to ask questions at any point or take a pause whenever you need.
Together, we can explore your situation, clarify your goals, and discuss possible ways of working that feel right for you.
If you decide you’d like to continue with further sessions, our work will remain flexible and open to change—guided by your needs and how things naturally develop over time.
